Model Gigi Hadid Facing Backlash After Doing Melania Trump Impression at American Music Awards

Last night, model Gigi Hadid hosted the American Music Awards alongside actor and comedian Jay Pharaoh.

Pharaoh is best known from his days on Saturday Night Live where he performs impressions of celebrities including Denzel Washington, Jay Z, and Chris Rock. During their opening bit last night, Hadid did her impression of Melania Trump:

Hadid made fun of the fact that the future first lady copied parts of Michelle Obama‘s speech at the Republican National Convention this year. The audience was laughing, but Twitter users are not happy with her, calling the impression “disrespectful.”

Some people are even calling for a Maybelline boycott- Hadid is the face of the line.
