Donald Trump will meet Monday afternoon with executives and on-air anchors from the five largest television networks in the United States.
The get-together wasn't mentioned in a mid-morning conference call the presidential transition's media go-betweens held with reporters.
CNN reported that it was organized by Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to Trump who served as his campaign manager.
Representatives from CNN, Fox News, NBC, ABC and CBS will file in to Trump Tower for the sit-down with Trump and Conway.
The entire meeting will be conducted 'off the record,' meaning attendees must promise not to report on what is said or who is in the room.
Past presidents and presidents-elect have held similar meetings, but they were easier to keep secret since attendees didn't have to tromp through a landmark gold-encrusted marble office lobby in full view of TV cameras managed by the same media companies that took part.
ABC News was represented by president James Goldston and anchors George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, and Martha Raddatz.
Nightly News host Lester Holt and Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd were on hand for NBC News, along with president Deborah Turness.
And rounding out the broadcast network presence at the meeting was Face the Nation host John Dickerson and the entire CBS This Morning team of Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell.
CNN president Jeff Zucker attended with on-air talent Wolf Blitzer and Erin Burnett.
Fox News had a handful of executives present at the meeting, including co-presidents Bill Shine and Jack Abernathy, vice president of news and editorial Jay Wallace and Suzanne Scott, the vice president of programming and development at the network.
MSNBC president Phil Griffin was there for his network.
Tight-lipped transition officials wouldn't discuss the purpose for the meeting on Monday afternoon.

What, no Megyn Kelly?
Yup. along with finger pointing and denials.
This is bold.
Tells me he has a powerful hand to play.
Im afraid its going to be an olive branch meeting. Im all for Trump showing magnanimity; however, these media clowns will never ever be square with him. My favorite parts of Trumps campaign rallies were when he called out the media for being a bunch of liars and inciting the crowd to boo lustily. I want more of that.
Repeat: the media will NEVER give President Trump a square deal no matter what he does.

I imagine this may be a Come-to-Jesus meeting.
He can tell them “Hey, that’s a really nice FCC license you have there. Be a real a shame if anything happened to it.”
Why not? He’s been called worse here.
I think Trump is going to do to the media what Obama did to the coal industry. Put so many regulations in place that the media will be forced to get rid of their news divisions.
We live in interesting times.
So the off the record agreement stipulates that no one can report who was in the room or what was said, yet the Daily Mail reports who represented the networks (interesting that FNC apparently brought none of their “talent”). I want to know who was on Trump’s side of the table. I’m guessing Conway, Bannon, maybe Jason Miller, maybe Priebus, and maybe Trump’s future Press Secretary. Was Ingraham there?
With regard to what was discussed, will it leak out? With that many people, it seems likely. Gotta believe the Trump team anticipates it will. Wonder if this might be some kind of test...or trap...
I think Trump is going to do to the media what Obama did to the coal industry. Put so many regulations in place that the media will be forced to get rid of their news divisions.
Very interesting. I would pay good money to be a fly on the wall. Undoubtedly the media will ALL start leaking about the content of this meeting, but I wouldn’t believe a single thing coming out of their mouths.
Your access to me and my administration will be directly proportional to the integrity with which you report on both.
You’re right. That’s exactly what he should say.
I would hope the meeting starts something like this.
“As I’ve shown by winning this election you folks no longer control the narrative...”
Yeah like that's gonna happen.
I’m afraid not. It was organized by Kellyanne, whom I adore for her campaign expertise but someone who is used to rubbing elbows with these elitists.
Analysis: CBS went to get see if Trump had some good recipes for their cooking segment.
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
Don’t patronize the MSM parent companies: Disney, Comcast, Time Warner.
Bless their hearts. Hope he tears them new ones.
They’ll be running their mouths in 3, 2...
......popcorn....popcorn...get the POPCORN!
This is brilliant.
