Come January, Republicans will control all three branches of government, but with only 52 Republicans in the Senate. That will not give them the 60 needed to break a Democrat filibuster.
Appearing on various Sunday talk shows, Schumer was asked if Senate Democrats will filibuster Trumps Supreme Court nominee, whoever it may be.
I would hope first and foremost that President Trump nominates a mainstream nominee capable of getting bipartisan support, Schumer told Fox News Sunday.
If he does, then well give it just a very, very thorough vetting, but we wont ipso facto say no. If its out of the mainstream, yes, were going to fight that nominee tooth and nail.

It will be interesting to see if congressional republicans will timidly allow the democrat minority to rule (as they historically have), or if Trump can motivate and lead them.
I'm not saying he has a shortcoming in this area. Like many subjects, I expect he'll rely on advisers in his inner circle. Just out of curiosity, who might be advising Trump on legal matters, including SC picks?
Trump recieved his list from the Heritage Foundation I think they KNOW who is REALLY a constitutionalist!!!!!
Let them keep it up... They have to try to spin reality, but haven’t realized their spin isn’t working any longer... reality is crashing down on them.. .more they keep pretending it didn’t the worse their crushing in the future will be.
