The US vice-president elect, Mike Pence, was booed by a theater audience when he attended the hit hip-hop musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night and then had a message about protecting diversity delivered to him from the stage after the curtain call.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump accused theatre-goers of having harassed Pence, writing on Twitter: Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
He also demanded an apology: The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!

Clever way of using something totally unimportant and trivial to deliver a nontrivial message to the world.
Do you have a problem with Trump speaking out against such boorish and rude treatment of the future VP of the United States of America? It is one thing to have the audience boo and it is another to have the cast publicly humiliate a paying customer at their performance. This goes beyond the pale and must be confronted.
What we are seeing is an orchestrated movement to de-legitimize the results of an election. It starts with Obama and Hillary who have not called the dogs off of Trump and Pence. They support the continued protest of the election. It is about intimidation. And Soros is funding the ringleaders.
He’s been pretty busy and may not have really looked into the play. A well meaning friend or someone with a mixed motive may have suggested that this is the hottest ticket on Broadway, a good night out and he was intrigued by the idea of seeing Alexander Hamilton’s life. I have to confess that’s why I looked into tickets.
And yet. We have to know that when artsy fartsy types get hold of a historical story, they may not at all give us a fair presentation of it.
“it’s New York Jake”
Our man Trump won’t take sh## from no one. Go Trump!
Trump WAS kind of clever to borrow a lefty riff about the theater as “a safe and special place.” He had to know this would incite derision, which would come right back on the lefties like a boomerang.
Donald plays 3D chess when everybody else is playing normal checkers.
“The reaction of the audience seemed to be much more mixed than some of the headlines have suggested.”
Another thread mentioned that the cheers for Pence were equal to the boos of the assholes. Of course, the MSM, liars that they are, emphasize the boos.
And why the HELL is Aaron Burr black? I am so TIRED of this crap!
I’m surprised everyone doesn’t yet get the PR genius of Trump. He settled the Trump University suit, made a couple tweets about it, then pivoted to tweets about the relatively minor Hamilton flap. So guess what everyone isn’t talking about anymore?
This is what live theater is to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQA003PutmE
The bad press that they will get is good enough. Or at least the fear of it.
And as for “de-legitimize” woes? It’s like Chihuahua dogs biting at the toes of a hippopotamus.
I’ve seen ruder.
Because that’s so avant-garde? They couldn’t even have put the colored fellow in whiteface?
They are “ alarmed and anxious”
Bullshit
The only thing worse than snowflakes is thespian snowflakes who accepted $700 of the man’s money and then publicly patronized him
I have a verb and a pronoun for them
If I had been there I swear I would have shouted: “Shut up and stick to acting.”
“The Arts”, said in a hoity toity voice, should never be funded by the government.
