It was created to allow the states to select the President.
Wow, it’s become truly sad when a physics/math geek such as I have learned much, MUCH more history of our country and about the constitution than the supposedly “educated” dorks of TIME.
But then again, it’s TIME.
Used to be a mediocre mag.
The Left should think long and hard about what would certainly happen if Trump didn't win the EC vote...
It sure wouldn't be pretty!
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - T. Jefferson
Didn’t work, did it?
This is good news. When the electoral college votes for Trump we can put this demagogue nonsense to bed. He will be certified by the U.S. Constitution fit for office and official not a demagogue.
I’m sure Time did an article in 2008 that pointed out there was on such thing as “The Office of the President Elect.”
The commies on the left use whatever they can to justify themselves
Actually, the Electoral College worked exactly as it should have by evening out the votes among the states rather than only in the population centers.
Sorry Time, it’s a tough concept. I typed slowly so you would understand.
Time - fake news?
Fake news
I have come to notice that wherever the left posts their smelliest junk it is always done where the public has no option for comment.
One of the best things in life is set afire the normally dependable ‘strawmen’ of the left and watch the ensuing comedy.
I think it cheats the reader when there is no way ‘Tar & Feather’ liberal authors.
The Electoral College was designed with States’ Rights as a consideration for maintaining ‘United States’.
I’m sure that Michael Signer complained loudly about eight years of Obama’s ugly demagoguery and lies and lawlessness. After all, the Electoral College was created to stop demagogues like Obama from occupying the Presidency.
Oh, wait, my bad.
Michael Signer is a rabid Democrat partisan who sees no evil whenever evil Democrats perpetrate it. How surprising (not).
Never mind...
Gee,I wonder what Mike might mean by that.
thinking...thinking...
"Section. 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax. Section. 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."
It says that citizens vote for president in an election, so it now addresses this 2-tiered system that we now have that was not in the minds of the Founders.
LOL Thats why Trump won! This article is written by a person a few short of a full deck.
Nope, it was designed to preserve a more accurate and finite representation of each individual state, along with parity between large and small states.
Now, moving senate selections from the state houses to popular vots.....that was evil!
