President-elect Donald Trump will tap Sen. Jeff Sessions to be his Attorney General, according to Bloomberg News and the New York Times.

Sessions, the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump, was rumored for a number of positions in Trump’s cabinet, including Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense but it appears that the former Attorney General of Alabama has been selected for the highest law and order position in the administration.

Sen. Ted Cruz was also rumored for the position after he was spotted at Trump Tower, meeting with the president elect.

The official announcement from Trump’s transition team is expected later today.

In addition, Rep. Mike Pompeo has been selected by Trump as CIA director ...

Trump couldn't possibly care less about PC sh*t like "color make-up," he's only concerned with two things:

1) Loyalty to the Cause.

2) Ability to do the Job.

Any other plastic, man-made consideration just gonna have to suck rocks, Trump don't give a sh*t. Nor should he.

Who will get Sessions’ seat in the Senate?

A conservative Republican.

"My hope as well but we are being told otherwise by Kellyanne. And the AJ job is going to Sessions. "

Sessions is 70 years old. We want someone younger for the supreme court position....someone who can/will be there for 30-40 years.

Bloomberg (radio) is virulently against Trump. They certainly during the campaign. I often listen to them while trading because their biz reporting is exquisite. Buy they are as or even more biased against Trump than CNN.

What about Sessions’ senate seat? Does Trump have a plan to protect it? (Outstanding choice by the way).

I supported Trump all along but I do not mind if he puts qualified people in the right roles. CRuz in the right role. Solicitor General or SC will be okay though I still believe he is squishy on immigration enforcement, No job for Romney or Bush, FIorina in low level cabinet post would be okay. SAme for Huckabee, Haley, Jindal.

Well, it is past noon over here . . . .

The Limbaugh transcript is also interesting. It is believable particularly when considering the pace of the election campaign.

seems that will be a safe repub seat after Sessions leaves.

Alabama - Governor can appoint an interim.

Special Election ( this 60 days part reads funny )

On such a day as the governor may direct, unless vacancy occurs between 2 and 4 months before the next regularly-scheduled general election, in which case it is held at that election. If vacancy occurs within 60 days of the next regularly-scheduled general election, a special election must be held on the first Tuesday after 60 days have elapsed since the vacancy occurred.

There are (2) reasons I voted for President-elect Trump, while being dismayed at some of his rhetoric:
1. Against Hellery;
2. Believed Trump would pick THE best people for his Cabinet and other America First competent wise folks for various agencies.

The man wasn't kidding. He's going to Make America Great Again. And America that is respected and feared around the World. I am giddy about this announcement.

Hope he sticks to his insistence that all appointees sign his no lobbying for 5 years after they leave contract. That alone will drain the swamp by a huge amount.

I know the sarcastic joke is, "I'm getting tired of winning". Not me. I've waited too long to see Constitutional adults back in charge. Keep the wins coming, Mr. President-elect Trump. I can handle it.

What a great idea! And spot on too!

Rudy was an NYC prosecutor earning only $60k per year when he took down Capone-like billionaires. He is feared and fearless. He would not only get the job done, he would leave a mark for generations to come.

I think Trump is bringing all these people to Trump Tower just to yank the media’s chain and keep them chasing their tails.
_______________

I agree. That’s what I thought when I heard he was meeting in NJ this weekend with Romney. Make them run down there, LOL. Could a meeting happen in Florida? Hee. I can hear the babies now, “Why can’t he have all of his meetings at Trump Tower? Whyyyyyyy...wahhhhhh.”

If you think about it.... Cruz as SCOTUS is brilliant.... Senate would have to confirm because they hate him there.... and do they really want him back in the Senate after denying him Supreme Court??

As to the replacement of these Senators that get picked for the cabinet.... Alabama’s governor is going to appoint a staunch conservative, correct?
