WASHINGTON — The congressional district seat reportedly being targeted for a run by Chelsea Clinton may not be vacant any time soon.
The New York Post reported last week that Democratic operatives within the Empire State are quietly grooming Chelsea to run in the Westchester seat currently occupied by longtime Democratic Congresswoman Nita Lowey.
“There has been a lot of speculation within New York Democratic circles about Lowey’s retirement and Chelsea running for the seat. There is a belief that Chappaqua is a logical place for Chelsea to run, because it would be straightforward for her to raise money and build a powerful base,” a source told The Post.
Lowey previously stepped aside for Hillary to run in 1999 for the New York Senate seat vacated by Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan. However, Lowey, who is 79 years old, told TheDC she has no plans to retire in the near future.
“You’ll have to ask Chelsea. I’m running for office. I currently serve and the future will take care of itself. I will keep running,” she said.
Lowey added, “I don’t know who’s putting all those articles out, frankly, but you’ll have to ask Chelsea. I am currently running. I am currently serving the people of my district.”

When I saw/heard some video of her talking at campaign events, I felt sorry for our country. That such a dull dimwit might be the heir to TWO US Presidents!!! Thank heavens that is not the case.....
She could be proactive by getting rid of all the pillows in her house.

Poor Nita!!! She was all set to succeed Moynahan until then-FLOTUS Hillary Rodham Clinton decided she would carpetbag to NYS and run for his seat. Ole Nita graciously stepped aside and the rest, as they say, is history.
NOW the same people want her to step aside for Chelsea Clinton, who seems incapable of holding onto ridiculously high paying jobs that her parents line up for her, and who’s never on her own accord gotten a job? I hope Nita lives and serves another 30 years if only to save us from yet another ladder-climbing Clinton!
Nita had to sit out the Senate race when Hillary wanted it. I’m guessing she won’t budge for the brat.
The Clinton mafia hasn’t made the persuasive offer yet.
