Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans, who starred at Texas A&M and Galveston Ball High School, took a knee during the National Anthem before Sunday's game, but he didn't do it for the same reason as some other players in the NFL.
Evans explained after the game that he kneeled during the anthem for the first time this season because Donald Trump has been elected president.

I have not watched a game this year and will belittle those whose life is so empty and meaningless that they must.

I have not watched a game this year and will belittle those whose life is so empty and meaningless that they must.Watching a football game means that a person's life is empty and meaningless? How about baseball or tennis? Do you feel the same way about them?

Trump won big in the all counties surrounding Tampa media market. He only lost in the dem stronghold of Hillsborough and if you break it down by males Trump won big league. Plus many of the beta males who supported Hillary aren’t even sports fans. This isn’t going to play well.

Bucs fans should protest that their team drafted this jackass and left Odell Beckham Jr. on the board.

Baseball was great this last year. And this crap will happen exactly once at most in MLB. The commissioner has almost unlimited power “for the good of baseball”.

This is awesome if you follow the logic here. He wasn’t supportive of the Black Lives Matter issue, but is so upset about the results of the election to feel compelled to kneel now? Don’t you know that has to endear him to the other African American players who have been kneeling since game 1. I wish someone in the media would point that out to him.
Best election EVER!!!!!!

This kind of action delegitimizes the sincere use of genuflection as an honor to God and indication of one's submission to Him.
Politicizing this rite is anti-God, anti-Christ, and entirely offensive to one's practice of religion. This fact should be made well-known to the owners and the audience as a Satanic trivialization of a sacred posture that means bowing or kneeling in reverence to our Creator alone.

I support and pray for President Donald Trump too, but I hold the line at kneeling down to him ...
