I'm not going to mention the parish for fear of retribution but at 5:30 mass this evening our priest, who hails from Ghana, talked about the election being over and the protests which bothered him. "I am not a politician but many people will criticize the new leader and protest the outcome. Why don't we pray one decade of the Rosary every day and ask God to help our new leaders." During the closing prayer he asked for a "peaceful transition of power." Would he have done the same if clinton was elected? All i'll say is there is a growing anger by Catholics in my parish towards clinton.
At our 5 PM Mass the Recessional Hymn was the Battle Hymn of the Republic!
I wish I was a member of your house parish
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my savior, for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever. Amen.
Luke
The bulk of the Rosary is the Hail Mary...
Hail Mary... Full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Much of the prayer is derived from the words of Elizabeth when she was visited by Mary during their pregnancies in Luke 1:41-43 or so.
you don’t pray to Mary- you ask for her intercession and ask she pray for you:
“Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.”
Last Sunday, we said a Litany to St. Thomas More.

Very true.
God bless her!

?
That is a very good question. I went searching online for a novena of thanksgiving, but I found none. Perhaps you would want to say a novena to Christ the King:

Amen!
Amen!
I join in your prayer.
I did a nine-day novena leading up to the election and fasted on that day. My prayer was that America would turn back to God and that God would help us. I think all the prayer from Christians all over this country really made a difference.
Most of the people still have a brain and a conscience... and that gives me hope for our future.
Salvation did a great service with that novena.
I love the rich intelligence and history of Catholicism... it all hangs together so beautifully and is so scriptural. It is a great blessing to me to have access to the fullness of faith. Good luck and prayers sent for you on your spiritual journey.
Someone was talking about starting a daily Trump thread, highlighting what he did that day, like the one done for W. You should submit this prayer to them as a start to the daily thread. It’s great.
Not a peep out of the priest at my church today. Sad.
God bless this priest.
(Praying) The Rosary saves many people and things.
