Police are using flash-bangs and tear gas in an attempt to disperse rioters blocking streets and attacking law enforcement in Oregon.
According to the Portland Police, the escalating measures to disperse the crowd come in response to “burning projectiles” being hurled at police.
Police have warned rioters that those entering the freeway will be arrested...

I’m old fashioned. I liked it when the cops used to use dogs and horse mounted policemen swinging long clubs on communists back in the day.

Why disperse the crowd. Send in every available office and NG to round up every last one, lock them up and fine the daylights out of them. Then put their mugshots online under the caption - These are the people who are destroying your town, raising your taxes and taking away time for the police to protect you and your families.
Overdue.
Arresting them all will quickly identify the rent a mobs. That will wake the libs and msm up.
The blame for all the violent protests should be placed on the msm. They promised the people Hellary would win. Every day, 24/7/365, they promised. The sheeple were so brainwashed and followed the almighty talking heads but their little make believe world came crashing down.
Folks, that’s how communism is so easily created. Pay attention and be aware. The brainwashing can happen in such a short period of time.

Seems like wood shampoo followed by a fire-hose shower would clean up the mess.

As a Eugene native, I used to know a few of those Eugene guys. A former leader used to be a Freeper, even. For him, it was about logging. He wanted clear cutting banned, and a return to selective logging (my father, a logger since the ‘30’s, even agreed with that).
He bailed on the whole thing when the anti-logging activists became anarchists and started a damage and destroy spree. The anarchists I knew outgrew it all after they had children to feed.

Water cannons are the only thing to dispel those idiots and I would love to be the guy on the nozzle. I’d wash them right down the streets. Nothing like a cold shower to cool a hot temper down.
Yep, I met a bunch of those guys in Seattle when they came up for the WTO riots. One of them gave me a little discourse on peaceful protest, somewhat marred by me spying him pushing a flaming dumpster downhill a day later. This was his version of “smashing the state”, although the actual government buildings were uphill from there and all that was down on the waterfront was us worker bees. Most of them grow out of it, some become professors and never do.
Should have done this the first night at the first sign of trouble.
Peaceful protests are fine. These protests (riots) progressed way too fast and way too far. Shut 'em down.
And `batons’ really doesn’t sound that bad.
So it’s like a concert, or a football half-time show, but police are beating sense into people.
