Thirteen cases of mumps have now been confirmed at the State University of New York at New Paltz, an increase of four since last week.
At least eight members of the school's intercollegiate swim team, along with one athletics staff member, are among the sick. Swim practices and workouts were suspended as a precaution at the onset of the initial outbreak.
It's not clear if the additional four cases are connected to the mumps spread on the swim team, which county health officials first learned of a month ago.
Last week, college health officials sent a letter to users of the school's athletic facilities cautioning them about possible infection.
Mumps is a highly contagious viral disease characterized by fever, headache and swelling of the salivary glands. Other symptoms include low-grade fever, fatigue, muscle aches and loss of appetite. After a person is exposed, symptoms usually appear 16 to 18 days after infection, but this period can range from 12-25 days after infection. Mumps can't be treated.
The affected students, who have been immunized against mumps, have been isolated for the recommended period of time.
Twenty students who have not been immunized have been sent home until December.
Campus tours and general information sessions will proceed as scheduled, according to the Daily Freeman of Kingston, but residence halls home to affected students will be avoided for the time being.
Mumps outbreak at Harvard: Why do vaccinated people get sick?
Again ... ALL those infected had previously been vaccinated.
Many vaccines may be effective in preventing disease, but since vaccines cause an abnormal immune system response, it hinders the development of the immune system, resulting in inappropriate responses to normal environmental stimuli.
How Vaccinations Affect the Developing Immune System
According to my research: The CDC recommends that children get 49 doses of 14 vaccines before they reach the age of 6, and the total reaches 69 doses by the age of 18. In 1983, the CDC guidelines stated that doctors shouldn't give more than four vaccines at the same time. By 2013, CDC guidelines changed to approve giving children up to eight vaccines at once. Human tissue is currently used in 23 vaccines. One prominent former scientist at a pharmaceutical firm, Dr. Helen Ratajczak, feels that the increased spike in autism may be related to the introduction of human DNA into the MMR and chicken pox vaccines. She goes on to state that the foreign DNA from vaccines can be incorporated into the host DNA which causes the immune system to fight against the foreign cells. "This could start an inflammatory process that never ends, and leads to chronic illnesses like autoimmune disease and allergies. Maybe this is why we are seeing so many children with severe, life-threatening allergies to common foods like peanuts," he says.
Ted Koren, DC stated, "Dyslexia, minimal brain damage, ADD, autism, allergies, visual and many other neurologic diseases grouped together as "developmental disabilities," barely existed before mass vaccination programs. Probably twenty percent of American children-one youngster in five-suffers from a 'developmental disability.' This is a stupefying figure Developmental disabilities" are nearly always generated by encephalitis. And the primary cause of encephalitis in the United States and other industrialized countries is the childhood vaccination program.
The relationship of vaccinations to encephalopathies and neurological diseases have been surfacing in medical journals since the advent of mass vaccination programs. Autism was unheard of before vaccinations, and parallel mass vaccination programs very nicely. ADD and learning disorders in children are now being traced to childhood vaccinations, as well as convulsions, paralysis, and epilepsy. Brain damage is by far the most common adverse reaction associated with vaccinations, although their actual numbers are not often reported correctly.
List of Vaccination-induced Neurological disorders:
This list was generated from a variety of resources and is not, by any means, all inclusive.
Brought my 2 month old granddaughter in for her "well" baby visit and was shown a list of 6 vaccinations to be administered that day. My daughter, her mother, was a healthy baby until she underwent the DPT series (now replaced by Dtap). It wan't until she was struggling in school that I had her tested. She has dyslexia, ADHD, migraines and memory problems - all neurological disorders. She has opted out of vaccinating the baby. The pediatrician told us the policy of their practice is to vaccinate and we could not return.
Would be interested in hearing from others in this forum who have chosen not to vaccinate their children.
They got their immunizations from the Clinton Foundation.
College students generally have poor immunity, due to a variety of factors, in addition to being closeted up together in relatively close quarters where they’re more likely to catch something.
Too much crying.
The human medical profession evidently has "bought" into the notion that all vaccines at any time are perfectly safe and right.
(It seems practically every service or goods provider except, so far, my grocer has asked me that question.)
“College students generally have poor immunity...”
Sharing bongs, beer funnels, and cootie-laden bedsheets doesn’t help either.
Well, at least obama has a legacy. “Plague” is a legacy, isn’t it?
No. Had a bad reaction to one several years ago and never did it again.
ALL vaccines are immune suppressing, meaning they affect immune function for a period of time and can make some people more susceptible to coming down with a viral or bacterial infection.. The chemicals, adjuvants, lab altered viruses and bacteria and foreign DNA/RNA from animal and human cell substrates in the vaccines may compromise immune system function and depress immunity -- that is the trade-off you are risking.Flu Vaccine: The Horrible "Immune System Mistake" Millions Will Make This Year
FYI ping.
It’s the natural springs in the Gunks they hike in.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Can’t mumps cause sterility in males, sometimes?
This could be a blessing for liberals, save on paying for abortions, and thinning the herd for us.
I may have had mumps at age 6. Back in 1957 it wasn’t really any big deal. Mumps, measles, chicken pox. Just normal stuff back then. I wonder what has changed. Oh, and it is best for a baby to just get one vaccination at a time and not 6 at once. Give the kid time for the immune system to recover before the next vaccine.
When I think of mumps, I think of sterility in men. I hope the kids all recover ASAP with no lasting effects.
“Roseanne Colletti found out what might be causing it.”
Duhhh....it was a virus...
I did not see in the article or the vid where it said that those that got the mumps were already vaccinated, but that is logical since vaccination is nearly universal for MMR in children 5 and older which would apply to this 20 something age group.
I would guess that this is a push to get “booster” vaccinations every 20 years. That way, the vaccine manufacturers can boost sales with limited liability. This gives the government a second chance to infect you with extraneous viruses and neurotoxins. Well at least the lower IQ from vaccines will keep the NBC fan base intact. The government masters like the compliance and dependency aspects to vaccines.
If the government and NBC says it’s good for you, stay way and run for your life.
Big Pharma and the government ... follow the money (= donors) trail.
In a 6-2 decision, the (Supreme) Court majority voted to reject substantial evidence that current law was fully intended to protect an American's right to sue a pharmaceutical corporation for injuries that could have been prevented if the company had elected to make a safer vaccine. The court decision leaves parents with no way to hold vaccine makers accountable and no feasible way to get compensation for the injuries suffered by their children; furthermore, the decision removes all financial incentive for multi-national drug companies to make vaccines as safe as they can be.

As I posted above, the best approach to building up antibodies is through natural exposure. Vaccinations bypass this complex process and, in so doing, actually weaken one's defenses. It's insidious how far the government has gone with their mandates. The US is the most highly vaccinated population in the world with the sickest children.

I chose not to vaccinate both my children. We have a long family history of adverse reactions to vaccines, including myself. The CDC website even tells you if you have close family members have had bad reactions, you should skip that vaccine.
I knew I could not take the chance with my kids, However, It was still not an easy decision, and I still second guess myself sometimes.
It's true that most pediatricians won't see unvacinated kids. So, I always went to the walk in clinic when I needed to take my kids to the doctor. Luckily, this was pretty rare.
You will find the your grandchildren will be remarkably more healthy than their peers. My girls have had the flu a couple of times and a few colds, and that's about it.
It seemed like their peers were constantly sick and had one ear infection after another.
I recently went to the clinic to get my daughter a physical for volley ball. The doctor that saw her was Japanese. He was looking through her medical history and said she was probably so healthy because she wasn't pumped full of vaccines that destroyed her immune system.
I was shocked, and no other doctor has ever said that to me. In fact, just the opposite.
I think it has to do with him believing in both Eastern and Western medicine.
