One of Trump's First Decisions After the Election... [WOW!! Ebell in the EPA!!)
Independent Journal Review ^ | Nov. 10, 2016- | Kayla Brandon

Posted on 11/11/2016 4:45:56 PM PST by Mrs. Don-o

Donald Trump's transition team is preparing for the billionaire businessman to take over as commander in chief, they're ruffling a few feathers along the way.

Scientific American reports Trump has selected climate change critic, Myron Ebell, to lead his Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) transition team.

Ebell, who's the director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute, has been described by Newsweek as a fierce opponent of climate change, which the publisher calls “entirely at odds with scientific consensus.”

David Goldston, a policy analyst at the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund, explained that Ebell's disbelief in climate change would “utterly destroy” any environmental advances made by the Obama administration:

“The Competitive Enterprise [Ebell's employer] Institute has done everything it can politically and through litigation to block any forward movement on climate and to try to harass anybody who is trying to get forward movement.”

Trump's controversial pick should come to no surprise, given his harsh stance on climate change:

The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 6, 2012

Give me clean, beautiful and healthy air - not the same old climate change (global warming) bullshit! I am tired of hearing this nonsense. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2014

The backlash Trump's receiving from the left is expected, but some are taking it a step further by petitioning for Ebell to not lead the EPA transition team.

It reads, in part:

“Donald Trump has chosen a leading climate skeptic to head the EPA transition. Do not let a man who denies science in the name of profit lead the nation in environmental protection.”

The petition needs 100,000 signatures in order to get a response from the White House; it has a mere 1,055 so far.

Other Democrats on social media were just as upset:

Fuck, Trump picks Exxon funded climate denier, Myron Ebell, to head EPA transition https://t.co/UAtF2x1F0a — Naadir Jeewa (@randomvariable) November 9, 2016

Myron Ebell, Trump’s pick to lead the EPA, is a lobbyist for fossil fuel industry. Think the system’s rigged? Ask who’s doing the rigging. — Darcy James Argue (@darcyjamesargue) November 10, 2016

So it begins. Trumps transition man for the EPA is @myronebell who is one of the biggest climate skeptics around. Good job America. — Akash Patel (@ab_patel9) November 9, 2016

Senior politics editor of The Huffington Post, Sam Stein, summed up his thoughts on Trump's controversial pick:

FWIW. we have probably lost the battle against climate change tonight — Sam Stein (@samsteinhp) November 9, 2016

Though Newsweek notes Ebell leading the EPA transition team doesn't mean he will definitely have a job within a Trump EPA, his position is undoubtedly a sign of what's to come.

As the saying goes, “For the love of God.”

With a blessing this big, it becomes very tangible what that means.

Thanks for more good news of What Trump will do!

Destroy the EPA by putting a man in charge, who doesn’t believe in the Eco Dogma.

I am SO pro-CO2. I have a great compost pile which churns out robust quantities of the three major greenhouse gases: CO2, methane, and water vapor.

All for a Greener Planet!

And if I may say so, it's so satisfying on the symbolic level: shredding what passes for paper journalism. What a great pleasure it is to compost the news.

The government needs at least a moratorium (if not a permanent cessation) on funding for climate change research.

I’m trying to grok the alarmists who are pointing out the cattle population on earth as some huge methane menace.

I mean, are cattle the only critters on earth whose poop exudes methane? The vast other fauna of the continents counts for something that doesn’t absolutely swamp that out?

Maybe all the tree huggers in the EPA will voluntarily walk out saving the trouble of Trump firing their sorry asses.

consensus has been packaged to mean correct.

it is not.

consensus has given us plenty of wrong scientific and medical “truths”that were incorrect.

consensus just guarantees most people agreed on something and that wht they agreed upon could’be right, ‘or wrong.
