Donald Trump plans to begin the process of constructing a wall on the southern border in March, sources familiar with the president-elects transition team told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The transition team is planning big spending negotiations with Congress at that time, which will include money for the wall a platform on which Trump built his campaign for the presidency. He plans to make Mexico pay for the wall directly or indirectly by increasing fees on visas and border crossing cards, enforcing trade tariffs and taxing money transfers abroad.
Trump has said the wall, which will be at least 35 to 50 feet high and made of pre-cast concrete, would cost anywhere from $8 billion to $12 billion.

So in Texas it’s really a river patrol problem, rather than a fence problem?
Perhaps Jacques F Kerry can help Trump out by manning a swift boat...:^)
I would be very interested to see the design plans for the wall, including its depth underground, etc.. OR MAYBE TRUMP SHOULD KEEP THOSE PLANS A TIGHTLY HELD SECRET.
Supposedly Clinton was supposed to have it taken care of it! There was money allocated but it never got done! I will look for the story I saw on it and post it here!
In 1994 as we were fighting to pass Prop 187 here in California, Dubya flew out from Texas to side with illegal aliens against the people of California. I didn’t forget, and never voted for Amnesty George even once.
I think we need to fix the whole there first.
Getting rid of Obamacare is more important than building the wall. Without proper healthcare, there won’t be many jobs, jobs, jobs
I think Day after Trump is sworn in he should announce some sort of method to get many illegals to self deport before starting on the wall in March.
Such as all those with criminal background get out now before you face deportation or life in work prison with no parole ever, all others can voluntarily leave and be put on a waiting list to come in legally which if they do not voluntarily leave they face deportation if found working in US, or collecting any sort of Gov’t monies or benefits.
Definite deportation for any illegal committing any sort of crime after Trump sworn in.
just some thoughts.
Don’t forget the cost of government schools for educating all the children of illegals. That is HUGE.
Could probably finance the entire project via that item alone !
Wetbacks are Western Union's best friends.

They do not have the build the wall completely sea to sea. A lot of the land along the Texas border is really difficult and dangerous to travel through. They may only need to build a 1000 miles or so.
As to Indian reservations the tribes if I understand right have their own police
But that's not what Trump has been saying.
Actually he did say it a couple of times that I heard at various rallies. But most of the time he did give the impression of an edge to edge wall.
Also, there is already a wall along part of the Mexico- California border and the Texas-Mexico border. If he tarts building a wall and implements the facet of his plan there may be enough self deportation that he can claim victory and stop.
A last point, if I were a rancher along the US/Mexico border and had armies of illegals and their armed snake heads or drug cartel types crossing through my property and some of them do, I might donate the land.
I still think introducing piranha into the Rio Grand would work.
But that's not what he has promised. A concrete wall, 35 to 50 feet tall, from sea to shining sea.
A last point, if I were a rancher along the US/Mexico border and had armies of illegals and their armed snake heads or drug cartel types crossing through my property and some of them do, I might donate the land.
Donate a big chunk of your land to the government, free of charge? In what world?
I still think introducing piranha into the Rio Grand would work.
They would die the first winter.
