Obama will ask Trump to keep executive orders in place

President Obama has described Donald Trump as ignorant, dangerous and unfit to lead the nation, but he’ll ask the Republican president-elect Thursday not to wipe out his cherished, legacy-making executive actions on everything from the Iranian nuclear deal to Obamacare.

In a meeting at the White House to prepare Mr. Trump for taking office, Mr. Obama will try to persuade the president-elect to honor what his aides call a “tradition” of preserving executive actions implemented by the departing chief executive.

“There is a tradition, particularly with regard to executive agreements of successive presidents preserving some element of continuity,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. “I don’t know whether or not that will apply in this case. But as a part of this effective, smooth transition, President Obama

Easy peasy. Trump makes a speech in which he praises Obama for say, 5 of his executive orders (that are decent). Then he names a few others that he feels were not fair to the American people, that he would need to amend (no need to say dismantle, even if he will). Make nice. But get the point across that TRUMP IS REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE, not the Muslim led oligarchy Obama was working for.

Trump’s response should be...

“Well Mr. President, why don’t you just sign a new executive order which makes them all permanent?”

The first stinking thing Trump better do to keep my support is to wipe out every stinking one of Obama’s EO’s. Obamacare HAS to go and go now. My friends from church have their insurance going up 30% per payments. This HAS TO BE STOPPED!!! If Trump does not wipe those illegal actions out, then he can go to hell. He will be no better than they are if he does not. Just like the stinking RINOs last election when they got control of congress and instead of stopping Obama, they simply became a democrat controlled congress because they continued to back Obama. He HAS to destroy these EOs.

Trump needs to show up with two things: One, for the WH, the Churchill bust; and two, for Bobo's parting gift: Don Ho's Greatest Hits

The first day in office is a hectic one for new presidents. It doesn’t start until the late morning, and they spend hours at a formal ceremony, with hours of obligations to follow on the party circuit that night. None of their appointees have been confirmed; few of them have even been nominated. They’ll probably get lost once or twice. It’s a lot like any first day at a new job, in other words.

But that doesn’t stop presidential candidates from making bold promises about how much they’ll accomplish that day. Here’s everything Donald Trump has promised to do on his first day in office (or, in a few cases, things his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, has promised Trump will do):

“Repeal every single Obama executive order.” (He has also pledged more specifically to “eliminate every unconstitutional executive order.”)
“Repeal Obamacare.” (On Trump’s campaign website, he’s less bullish, promising only to “ask Congress” on day one to repeal Obamacare immediately.)
“End the war on coal.”
“Begin swiftly removing criminal illegal immigrants from this country.” (More specifically, Trump has promised to do this in his “first hour” in office, “day one, before the wall, before anything.”)
“Begin working on an impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern border wall.”
Meet with Homeland Security officials and generals to begin securing the southern border.
“Notify all countries that refuse to take back dangerous illegal immigrants who have committed crimes in this country that they will lose access to our visa programs if they continue to do so.”
Convene his top generals and inform them they have 30 days to come up with a plan to stop ISIS.
Fix the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Call the heads of major companies who are moving operations oversea to inform them that they’ll face 35 percent tariffs.
“Contact countries and say…’Folks, we love protecting you, we want to continue to protect you but you’re not living up to the bargain’…They’re not paying what they’re supposed to be paying—which is very little, by the way.”
“Defend the unborn.”
“Withdraw from TPP.”
“Start taking care of our…military.”
Suspend Syrian refugee resettlement.
“Notify our NAFTA partners of my intention to renegotiate the deal.”
“Designate China as a currency manipulator.”
“Direct every agency in government to begin identifying all wasteful job-killing regulations, and they are going to be removed.”
“Get rid of gun-free zones [in] schools” and “military bases”—which would require repealing a 25-year-old federal law. (”My first day, it gets signed, okay? My first day. There’s no more gun-free zones.”)
“Ask Congress to pass ‘Kate’s Law’—named for Kate Steinle—to ensure that criminal aliens convicted of illegal reentry receive strong mandatory minimum sentences.”

Found the following on Pollutico

“One of the problems I have with what Obama did is he's always signing executive orders,” Trump said on “Meet the Press” in January. But when asked whether he would issue executive orders of his own, Trump said he wouldn’t “refuse them,” adding that Obama “led the way. … If I get elected, many of those executive orders that he signed, the first day, they're going to be unsigned.”

I remember that ... it's one of the reasons I voted for Trump/Pence. President Trump owes his supporters an honest follow-through on his campaign promises.

Trump has no need to negotiate anything. No agreements. Just an assurance that he will give them full consideration and keep any elements that don’t violate his campaign promises.

Well, that's just it. Trump's "Contract", says the illegal EO's have to go. If they don't, his voters revolt en masse, and Trump loses all ability to lead / govern. So, instead, he has his AG (Rudy?) issue guiding opinions regarding which EO's amount to "legislation", and Trump brings out the axe.

Two things:

1. The EOs by Obama are terrible, and many are flat out abuse of power

2. The way that POS has talked about Trump

Screw him. Trump, just let him talk, then screw him over. To hell with that treasonous bastard

Trump needs to not eat or drink anything during his White House visit today.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but we know there is evil in the Obama cabal.

So Barry... when are you moving out exactly? I’ll have those illegal EO’s of yours rescinded before you can get in a round of golf.

I am going to say one thing to this.

People, please be careful of knee jerk reactions to articles like this.

It all begins now. The media will start the insidious process of making you believe Trump will betray you, or is betraying you. Be very careful to not react until you have studied the actual facts.

“Every single one of them yesterday Hillary, Obama, John Earnest, John Kerry all of them said a smooth transition. That bothered me.”

Smooth? Obama said “peaceful transition” ~That~ is scary.

All Trump has to say is that EOs will be reviewed and those that are consistent with his vision and strategies will be retained.

That is not a bad point, and is surely the reason Trump specified “Obama’s illegal executive orders.” See my post 290...
