~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: United States Naval Academy, Maryland The United States Naval Academy is a four-year coeducational federal service academy in Annapolis, Maryland, United States. Established on October 10, 1845, under Secretary of the Navy George Bancroft, it is the second oldest of the United States' five service academies, and educates officers for commissioning primarily into the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Candidates for admission generally must both apply directly to the academy and receive a nomination, usually from a Member of Congress. Students are officers-in-training and are referred to as midshipmen. Tuition for midshipmen is fully funded by the Navy in exchange for an active duty service obligation upon graduation. Approximately 1,200 "plebes" enter the Academy each summer for the rigorous Plebe Summer, but only about 1,000 midshipmen graduate. Graduates are usually commissioned as ensigns in the Navy or second lieutenants in the Marine Corps, but a small number can also be cross-commissioned as officers in other U.S. services, and the services of allied nations. The academic program grants a bachelor of science degree with a curriculum that grades midshipmen's performance upon a broad academic program, military leadership performance, and mandatory participation in competitive athletics. Midshipmen are required to adhere to the academy's Honor Concept. In its 2016 edition, U.S. News & World Report ranked the U.S. Naval Academy as the No. 1 public liberal arts college and tied for the 9th best overall liberal arts college in the U.S. In the category of High School Counselor Rankings of National Liberal Arts Colleges, the Naval Academy is also tied for No. 1 with the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy, and is tied for the No. 5 spot for Best Undergraduate Engineering program at schools where doctorates not offered. How awesome you’ll get to mingle with the state big-wigs! I hope we ALL have something to celebrate.
I’ve already early-voted, so I’m going to hide under the bed till it’s over.
Just kidding...I’m such a glutton for punishment, I’m sure I’ll have to see what’s happening. LOL!

They do come in handy. We don’t have mice - - - for long. Big ‘Un delivered one as a “present” on the back porch this afternoon. Good boy!
Hubby deals with the larger varmints. Boom.

Yeah, going the all-mail-in ballot route is a bad idea, imho.
Going to the precinct feels good, makes it feel more special. I don’t mind getting up early to do it. :-)

Heck, they’re just people like you and me. But they’re all nice people and it’s fun to party with them. I knew our representative and senator before they were ever elected and have gotten to know our congressman and his wife pretty well the past 6 years. I imagine they’ll all be re-elected tomorrow. Sure hope so! They’re all keepers.
We’ll all be holding our breaths on the big race tomorrow night. And praying.

This is not a trick question:
I am going to give to you some information. From that information you have to deduce my birthday!:
I was in the United States Navy.
That’s it. That is all the information you get.
Now, when is my birthday, huh? Well, huh?

FR seems to have a glitch tonight....it took me almost 10 tries to post the ping. The little icon just went round and round and round.
It’s not much better at home.
Hope you and Charlie had a good day. How’s Maddi?
