Wall Street contemplates possibility of a Republican sweep as Trump gains in polls
CNBC ^ | November 4, 2016 | Tai Kim

With the recent rise in Donald Trump's poll numbers, Wall Street is starting to contemplate the prospect of a better-than-expected Republican Party showing on Election Day.

"It's incredible to see how much the US election has changed in recent weeks," Strategas' Daniel Clifton wrote in a report to clients Thursday.

"The FBI report of new emails from Hillary Clinton's private server has turned the election from a referendum on Trump to a referendum on Clinton. ... In our meetings this week in NY and Boston, it was clear to us that investors are not prepared for a Republican sweep."

One of the best nights in my life!!!! They treated Reagan during that election very much like they’ve treated Trump this year. He was Bozo. He was a Class B Actor. He would start WWII. blah blah blah. Worst thing that could EVER happen.

Then, of course, it was a sea of blue ... before the media types decided that since red was the Communist color, they would assign it to the Republicans as Dems were too close to Commies and that didn’t want that image to take root.

This does feel very much like that. I hope we’re not disappointed. Things have become a lot more toxic, more crooked, more rigged than they were back then. AND the country’s demographics have changed. Not to mention all the room for shenanigans with early and mail voting. We shall see.

“in recent weeks” = since pussygate and the lying bimbos

None of it has worked. The DNC is as ineffective against Trump as Jeb! was.

Stranger indeed, when FReepers play some sort of a class-warfare card. Here’s news for you folks: Wall Street (and by that I mean the market) cheers nothing. You simply have winners and losers. It’s the game.

“Strange times when a GOP sweep isn’t cheered by Wall St.”

Indeed. Republican Trump is vehemently anti-big-rigged-corrupt-business and Democrat Hillary is extremely pro-big-rigged-corrupt-business. Most of her knee-jerk supporters are unaware of this are simply don’t want to know.

Actually, Trump is anti-corruption, anti-Wall-Street, pro-free-speech, anti-war, anti-”nation-building”, anti-cold-war, anti-crony-capitalism, etc., whereas Hillary is the exact opposite. Essentially, the 1970’s Republicans and Democrats have swapped positions nearly 100% today, and most people can’t get their heads wrapped around this.

I continue to boggle that the anti-war, anti-government, anti-establishment, anti-big-corporations, anti-fat-cat, anti-insiders 60’s hippy generation support the corrupt Hillary Clinton who epitomizes the very opposite of those positions.

It’s actually WE Trump supporters who are the true rebels, whereas the 60’s rebels are now the corrupt establishment.

Let’s make it happen! One talking point that I haven’t heard mentioned enough is that not only is Obamacare failing, with sky-rocketing premiums, but that the IRS will be used as their collection agency. The penalties for not participating will go up dramatically soon.

Can’t pay your premiums when they quadruple? No problem, the IRS will just put a lien on your house.

Mention this to everybody you know, time is running out.

If certain politicians have their thumb on the scale of business wins and losses, then the fate of these politicians also factors into market beliefs. The market doesn’t just “have” winners and losers — it also “anticipates” them.

It is a referendum on the people versus the Establishment elites. It is a referendum on the globalists versus the nationalists. The people and the nationalists will win unless the system is rigged using voter fraud.

“Does anyone remember election night in 1980? I’ve heard people say this brings back memories of it.”

Yes, it does. Even the poll numbers are nearly identical. The liberal media comments are identical, even down to “Reagan is the most dangerous man running!”

Here’s a collection of insults to Ronald Reagan by America’s journalistic lights, some of whom are still afflicting us:

What really has Wall Streeters wetting themselves is the fear that Pres. Trump may replace Mama Yellen. She’s been providing the free money to Wall St. so they can keep the stock market rolling. It’s all rigged, you know.

The first thing that they do is keep your income tax return. All of those people who view the withholding tax as a saving plan, are in for a surprise.

Could you tell me what it was like in the 80s? I was only born in 1985 so I don’t have a clue.

I remember Election Night 1980 very well. It was the first year I was old enough to vote. I had just enlisted in the Marine Corps and was preparing for my boot camp which would begin in February. I was just out of high school and working at a restaurant where I worked the dinner shift to closing time.

I was working that night. There was a TV in the bar showing the election results. Just one TV in those days with a crappy signal - not the ocean of wide screens you see in a typical bar today. Not even a cable hookup. One of the thousand jobs I had in that place was to adjust the antenna on that TV to get a better picture. Which was frequently.

It was pretty much a given that Carter was going to get re-elected. To be honest, I had no real horse in the race, I was just 18 years old and not politically savvy yet. I remember rooting for Reagan only because seeing Carter on TV in those days depressed me. He always had that hangdog defeatist look on his face. Reagan seemed pretty happy and optimistic about everything and had a sense of humor, which Carter clearly had very little of.

So it was a surprise to see Reagan pulling away early. I was bussing tables, filling up juice machines, delivering tubs of ice to the bar from the ice-maker, doing pretty much every odd job that came up. The people at the bar started getting excited. Obviously Reagan fans. When the race was officially called for him, the bar erupted in celebration and the dining room started buzzing with excitement.

This was Massachusetts by the way. Which Reagan carried by a hair.

Just as this ethical hurricane spins, so should the toilet swirl next Tuesday. The American people should flush Team Clinton and their Obamaite cheerleaders into the collective national sewer.
