All Aboard: Ted Cruz Officially Joins the Trump Train
Townhall.com ^ | November 3, 2016 | Justin Holcomb

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has officially joined the Donald Trump campaign and has already hit the trail with Gov. Mike Pence in Iowa and Michigan.

After a heated primary season for the Republican Party, Trump and Cruz came out of the Republican National Convention with a less-than-friendly relationship.

"Sen. Cruz will join Gov. Pence in Iowa and Michigan today," Pence's press secretary Marc Lotter told USA TODAY. "Having Sen Cruz join the governor today underscores what he has been saying for the past few weeks and we are seeing happen across the country - it is time for Republicans to come home."

“Time for people to decide how important gloating rights are, compared to a united front.”

You want to talk about unity? Where was Ted’s sense of unity when he used his prime speaking slot at the convention to tell Americans to, “vote your conscience”?

No one’s gloating here. We’re showing our disgust for a man who’s proven himself to be as much a narcissist and political opportunist as Barack Obama.

“The ONLY reason this weasel is jumping on is because he KNOWS that Trump is going to win and he wants to preserve his political life.”

Trump could have easily said he doesn’t want Cruz with the campaign. It isn’t Cruz’s decision, it’s Trump’s.

Wasn’t that something.

I’d forgotten about it.

Lots of folks will suddenly see a need to get in good with the new President.

More, from your link....

Media reporting on former 2016 presidential candidate Cruz’s speech at the event honed in on an absence of the explicit use of the name of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. What Cruz did say, in part, was, “If you care about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, if you care about free speech and religious liberty and the Second Amendment, then this election, putting a Republican in the White House and keeping a Republican Senate, is the whole enchilada. We are one liberal [Supreme Court] Justice away from losing our constitutional rights.”

At a small joint press event with Pence and Cruz after the rally and just outside the Trump-Pence plane, Cruz made the following comments when asked about whether he was excited for Trump to become president:

I’m here campaigning for Donald Trump, for Mike Pence.

I recognize some of you guys are wanting to write stories suggesting divisions among Republicans. I’ll make a point, I’m getting ready to get on a gigantic airplane that has Donald Trump’s name painted on the side of it.

On Monday of this week I voted for Donald Trump. I voted for Mike Pence and I’ll tell you, we’re just a few days away from election day and I’m doing everything I can to defeat Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton would be an absolute disaster as president. I’m doing everything I can to keep a Republican majority in the Senate.

As Mike pointed out I think there are many issues front and center in this election, but none is more important than the U.S. Supreme Court.

Here is his reply tweet to Pence’s earlier tweet (follows)...

It’s all about turnout. Together, we’re going to keep GOP control of the Senate and defeat Hillary Clinton in this presidential election. https://twitter.com/mike_pence/status/794296040165937152

(Pence’s tweet)
Joining @tedcruz to stump for @realDonaldTrump at the @Air_Zoo in Kalamazoo, MI. This crowd is ready to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain!

Overwhelming, wholehearted support, coming from cRuz, for Trump. Lol. The ONLY one cRuz is looking out for, is cRuz.

Where was his ‘unity’ months ago...like at the convention, for one?

These Cruzbots need to come around - the 7 million that voted for him before the dropped - because Romney was sunk by 5 million conservatives that stayed home. Trump needs his base, in addtion to his ground game that’s GOTVing for the downticket.

Bottom line is that Cruz is going to DEFEND AND PROTECT the AMERICAN REPUBLIC and the CONSTITUTION in the Senate.

He is ACTIVELY campaigning for TRUMP.

VICTORY FIRST!

Settle the rest later.

Do you want Trump/Pence to win ?

We are one team now, dedicated to defeating the corrupt Clinton regime.

We need all hands on deck and in prayer.

Pray without ceasing that God will show us mercy and work this miracle before our eyes, to enable our nation to repent of its wicked ways and seek His face, to give grace and humility to Donald Trump and Mike Pence so that they are enabled to become our next President and Vice President, that our nation may prosper and be delivered from judgement, that we may be a blessing to all of our citizens as well as all of our neighbors in the world.

“If you happen to find out that our Sen cRuz has, in fact, uttered those exact words, please ping me. TIA.”

You bet. It’s a ping I’ll be happy to make - if he ever says it. Doubtful that he will. The man is just too full of himself.

“Don’t need him. Tell him to get the —— on home.”

Then why did Trump ask him to campaign? If you are not wanted on the campaign, the top of the ticket will tell you to go pound sand.

Why does everyone here think that Cruz just decided to get on a plane and go campaign with Pence? Trump had to invite him.

Folks who’ve been on the Trump Train, since day one, have remained in steadfast prayer for Trump and this nation. As have those who climbed aboard, once Trump became the nominee.

There is no guarantee that Cruz will vote for Trump. Cruz is just afraid of losing GOP party funding for his Senate reelection. How many times are you going to be fooled by this charlatan?

I wanted them to win before the convention.

I wanted them to win at the convention.

I wanted them to win in the months after the Convention.

Didn’t Ted want them to win?

LOL, nice try...
