Election day is rapidly approaching, and while Hillary Clinton seems busy defending states like Michigan that were already thought to be firmly locked up for her, Donald Trump is on the offensive in historically blue states that could very well end up in his corner.
This year's election is likely to come down to a handful of swing states, and Donald Trump has a tight electoral path to victory, which is why voters in states like Pennsylvania are going to play a pivotal role in outcome of this race.
In a highly under reported story earlier this year, members of the Amish community were found to be quietly rallying behind Donald Trump and attending his events. There's been little to no reporting in previous election years regarding Amish voters, as they typically do not vote in large numbers, but this year's political issues have been particularly impactful in their communities. In fact, an Amish PAC is even seeking volunteers to help drive Amish voters to the polls on election day
From Amish PAC Plain Voters Project website:
Amish PAC needs volunteers to help drive Amish voters to the polls in Pennsylvania. In addition, if you have any Amish friends or neighbors and would like to give them a ride to the polls on Election Day, Amish PAC will provide you with a prepaid gas card. This is the same Amish PAC that put up billboards for Donald Trump in Lancaster country, Pennsylvania, and encouraged communities to get involved. In a rare showing of political involvement, Amish voters even showed up to support Trump during his rally in Lancaster County on October 1st.The purpose of Amish PAC's Plain Voter Project is to beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 by turning out a deeply conservative and often forgotten block of voters concentrated in two key swing states - the Amish.
Amish PAC has no use for internet and television advertising because the voters we're targeting don't use the internet or watch television. Therefore, Amish PAC's ad blitz is two-pronged: Newspapers and Billboards. In addition, Amish PAC is building a large network of volunteers across Amish Country to assist in voter registration and flyer distribution.
Pennsylvania could be the key to victory for Trump, and if the state turns red on election night, then it's a safe bet he has won this election.
If you're in Pennsylvania and would like to help Amish voters make it to the polls, you can visit the Amish PAC's volunteer form here.
Keep an eye on your cars.................
I thought you two hashed this out in a previous thread.
I had a class, in college ( okay, it was before the flood, but I doubt that things have changed since then ), wherein we studied many different non-mainline religious communities and the Amish was but one of them.
Perhaps some of them do vote now, but as rule, they aren't a big nor usual voting block.
“Perhaps some of them do vote now, but as rule, they aren’t a big nor usual voting block.”
They are now, lol. Go Trump/Pence.
I had a class, in college......Ok. Most assuredly your first mistake for misinformation. Look it up where the Amish in Lancaster Co., Pa voted for Bush instead of Kerry. It was big at the time. On top of that, I doubt your college professors knew the difference between Amish, Old German or even LDS.
Where’s Trump on this? And the Republicans? We need buses for these people.
Hi, no pardons. Haven’t seen you in a bit. Don’t you love the Amish? Where’s the Republican Party on this?!
Asking seriously here. Are you a mod or admin whose job it is to keep track of what posts go in what forums?
My wife is back there now, visiting relatives and reported seeing that horse-and-buggy sign. Someone in the family asked an Amish neighbor why they were going for Trump since they hardly ever vote. He said that Clinton was all for taxing/raising taxes on them, specifically.
When you can get a clannish bunch like this voting for you, you know Trump’s appeal is THAT widespread.
Maybe now people here will stop using “Amish” when they’re slyly referring to another group of people. And good on you!
Good for you, patriot!!!
Amish For Trump Buses!
Nope.
Just a concerned citizen.
Beats being an unconcerned citizen.
Bless you for this. If I wasn’t four + hours away from Lancaster I would vote at home, then drive down there. Hoping that there are plenty of volunteers.
I've been fascinated by the Amish since I was little. They're an interesting group and at least not as weird as the Doukhobors; whom very few have even ever heard of.
The GOP is nowhere, as usual, which is crazy! There are Amish in Pa., Ohio, and Florida....all states that we have to win!
God bless the Amish, and God bless you, Rufus.
Ignore humble; he isn’t a Mod, doesn’t own this site, has NO say so, but just LOVES to tell posters off.
Yes, they are now...God bless ‘em. :-)
