U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who unsuccessfully challenged Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination, will campaign on her behalf Thursday in the Mahoning Valley.
The Clinton campaign did not immediately specify a time or location, but is calling it an "early vote" event. Those interested in attending should register on Clinton's campaign website.
Sanders is expected to discuss Clinton's plans to build an economy, raising the minimum wage and making public colleges and universities tuition-free, among other platforms. He is scheduled to appear at Deering High School in Portland on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. OH remains a tight race for Clinton and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Sanders' main role in the election post-primary has been to convince his supporters, especially young progressives, to support Clinton instead of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump or third party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein. The Vermont senator has since endorsed Clinton for president.
Trump has campaigned in the Valley twice: an August 15 invitation-only event at Youngstown State University and a quick September 5 visit to the Canfield Fair.
I wonder how the berns feel now?
That doddering old communist can do as he likes, but his minions are breaking for Trump.
Big league.
I guess the check hasn’t cleared yet.
He's been bought and paid for.
Commie sell-out.
I guess he doesn’t care the debates were rigged against him by Hillary.
Sanders: holdover Soviet era useful idiot continues true to form ... only this time for the Democrats.
A typical useful idiot to his last.
This commie never drew large crowds unless he was on loser ville college campuses. Outside of a college campus, his rallies were very small compared to Trump (but still large then Hillary’s)
Now, will anyone even bother to cross the street to see Bernie the sellout?
Madness takes its toll!
There may be a hold until Nov 9, and at that point, there may be a surprise for Bernie.
Interesting that Michelle is scheduled for "0" events.
Anyone asked him how he feels about Clinton cheating in the primary debate?
It is embarrassing that he is still campaigning for her.
How’s the payoff going Sanders?
I am not sure I would make that conclusion. Hillary has money to burn (especially with Soros in the background). She could just be paranoid about losing a state she's ahead in.
“I wonder how the berns feel now?”
I guess he liked getting schlonged.
Could have been a hero, instead a total sellout.
