This is serious stuff. The DOJ is stonewalling the FBI on getting a warrant. The cover up begins.

So.....if the four Wiener devices are in the custody of the FBI, and they just haven’t had time to fully vet the 10,000 or so emails they found, why would they need a warrant? If they THINK there are 10,000 emails on a device (or four) in the Wiener household, what’s to prevent Huma or The Perv to throw the devices through a tree-chipper before the FBI knocks on their door? Is this immediately going sideways.....AGAIN?

FBI has not established probable cause. Comey acted on a “recommendation” by his investigation team, based on a trove of emails that “may be pertinent”.

It is unknown whether the FBI even has the emails in their possession.

Lynch is going to stall and argue for 10 days.

She figures that Comey has done enough damage, and fulfilled his moral obligation to Congress and that is as far as she wants it to go.

The DOJ is stonewalling the FBI on getting a warrant.

That may be, however, I'll bet the locals have a warrant.

“As of Saturday night, the FBI had still not gotten approval from the Justice Department for a warrant that would allow agency officials to read any of the newly discovered Abedin emails”

Need FReeper legal experts: Why is the DoJ (executive branch) approving search warrants, and not the judicial branch?

A Good Thing actually: it means whoever has possession of the evidence will be able make and certify a copy of it before Comey has a chance to order it destroyed.

They don’t need a warrant for the *addresses* of Huma’s emails.
And that’s what is pertinent.

.gov and hrc.com would be seen under a ‘sexting’ warrant.

If it was Weiner’s computer, he can give permission. He is likely willing to make a deal.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bhara already had a subpoena to review Weiner’s devices. Pretty sure the cat’s already out of the bag and the emails have already been reviewed by NYPD as well as FBI agents.

I have hope that the NYPD made backups of the hard drive, just in case
Huma’s computer “disappears”.

Imagine if you will, Huma using family contacts to funnel classified comms between Obama, Clinton and the Intelligence services...and foreign agents.

All 3 would be guilty of violating the Espionage Act.

I posted once that a cop got his warrant and orders from higher ups and so was not personally responsible for busting into the wrong house, etc., on dope raids.

Someone came right back with the statement that any cop can go directly to a judge and get a warrant....does not have to go to his commanding officer and ask for the warrant to be issued.

So I ask if an FBI agent can go directly to a judge and ask for a warrant.

This sounds like wishful thinking on the part of Hillary supporters. If the FBI needs a warrant, I doubt it will have much trouble finding a judge to grant one.

They won’t get one either. The Dems are furious and snarling like a dog whose bone was taken away.

Abedin had forwarded the email to her Yahoo account in order to print it, but told agents she was “unaware of the classification of the document and stated that she did not make judgments on the classification of material she received. Instead, she relied on the sender to make that assessment and to properly make and transmit the document.”

Some of you have already recognized the red flag that this message raises.

For those that don't, it's very simple: everyone with a security clearance is tasked with protecting classified information, regardless of whether it is marked or not marked properly.

You don't "rely on the sender". You share responsibility with the sender. This is explained during your security indoctrination, and reinforced on at least an annual basis. If you see something that isn't marked properly, you are required to correct it, and report it if the information has been disclosed to authorized parties.

Clinton tried this dodge, and the clueless people in the lamestream media repeated it without challenge. But, if they had bother to ask someone with actual experience handling classified information, they would have quickly learned that it is not a valid excuse -- especially when you admit that you did it repeatedly.

You might get a pass on a single instance where you missed something, and only be subjected to refresher training. But, repeated occurrences put your clearance, your job, your money, and even your freedom in jeopardy.

“We do not have a warrant,” a senior law enforcement official said.

Yeah...WHO? Who would that be, some journalist’s “source”?

Who the F’ needs a warrant, with the govt raping all the information from my phone and emails accounts as soon as I send it. If they need a warrant for weiners phone then they need one for mine.
