The only poll that matters is a week from Tuesday.

Actually their sample is R+1. They re-weighted to D+7 to get those results.

Read the unweighted results. Party id is 332R 323D and 303I yet they reweighted it to D+7. This has been consistent throughout the polling period. Data is telling them that the electorate will be even yet they are reweighting it to D+7.

"Results based on survey of 973 likely voters conducted from 10/22 - 10/27. Margin of error: +/- 3.3 percentage points. Party identification breakdown: (Unweighted) 323 Democrats/332 Republicans/303 Independents; (Weighted) 351/287/308. Results in table above are based on weighted sample. IBD's polling partner TechnoMetrica uses "traditional" telephone methodology using live interviewers for data collection for its public opinion surveys. Roughly 65% of interviews come from a cell phone sample and 35% from a Random Digit Dial (RDD) land line sample."

No polling expert but 332 -> 287 (13.6%) seems an awfully heavy Republican un-weight. Are they assuming 2008 and 2012 D-R-I voter turnout?

Live interviewers would incorporate an assumption of no "Trump Effect", too. (Do like the fact that they call 65% cell phones but even if this is one of the very best polls, I can see some problems with it.)

Liberals just want to kill babies and get free stuff. They don’t care that she’s a criminal. That’s why they want convicts in prison to vote.

I just want this election over and done with and Ohole out of the rainbow house.

They can’t get voters like us to answer the phone. You ‘oh noers’, buck up!

Get a spine and stop the pessimism. Why do you believe the polls no matter what we explain here? Why?

Romney is not running. Nor is McCain. Nor is Dole or Bush...any Bush. They all would be fine with losing.

It shows Clinton rising recently and Trump falling - the exact opposite of the real trend. We’ll soon find out if it’s stll the “most accurate” poll.

Has anyone else here noticed under the “Intensity of Support”, Trump is leading Hillary 64% to 59% in the Strong column and only behind by 4 points in the Moderate?

FWIW, it makes me think of the Chauncey Gardiner quote from “Being There”: “As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden.”

that poll said 5% of republicans would vote for hillary

this is how i know they’re wrong. no actual republican could ever vote for her.

meanwhile, only 84% of the republican base is supposed to vote for Trump?? excuse me??

sorry, there hasn’t been a candidate that would attack the dems more then Trump... and that’s red meat to the base.

who are these supposed 14% of republicans that want something else??

So Trump surges and they reweight the poll to get a different result? I’m so sick of these pollsters. It’s war with these frauds.
