Ninety-eight federal inmates will return home sooner than expected after President Barack Obama commuted their sentences on Thursday, part of a clemency push that has sped up dramatically in Obama's final months.
All told, Obama has cut short sentences for 872 inmates, including 688 this year. The figure is higher than the number commuted by the previous 11 presidents combined, and the White House said more commutations were coming before Obama leaves office in January. Of the latest batch, 42 had been serving life sentences, the White House said.
Neil Eggleston, Obama's White House counsel, said it was important to remember that "there are personal stories behind these numbers."

In the USA or in the world?
‘Obama’s White House counsel, said it was important to remember that “there are personal stories behind these numbers.”.

There are personal stories behind the victims as well.
I thought we were a nation of laws? These people were convicted by juries of their peers.
Obama thinks he is some sort of emperor.
This has to be undone. Is there any way? It’s just wrong!
how many are black?.....probably most of them....
Pure crap!
96% of Federal inmates accept a plea deal instead of going to trial, where the conviction rate is almost 100%.
That means about 96% of the convicts Obama released already had at least one felony dropped or reduced.
From what I read, these homeboys returned to the big [sanctuary] cities, and promptly took up where they left off.
Ask the cop on the beat in Hartford, Bridgeport, New London, New Haven..yada.
Of course, most or all of these felons had illegal guns while committing their crimes....this is the first charge that gets bargained away. [And we are all aware of the draconian gun laws in CT, that only bother the *good guys*.]

Unless this “dealing” was something like someone or a team privately growing their own pot and nothing more, it’s going to be embroiled in violent crime anyhow. Now we can argue about whether it ought to be (like Prohibition) but it empirically is. No regulation, obscene money to be made, unpredictable competition, no protection of the law.
How many are black?
That's where I grew up.
In 1964, we voted 80,000 to 60,000 - for Goldwater!
...and/or commie activists like himself.
He’s looking to the future when he needs a drug dealer close at hand across the nation.
Fundamental transformation.
shortening sentences and clemency are two different things that obama’s trying to pass off as one. Clemency gets them there 2nd amendment right back as per here, https://www.justice.gov/pardon/frequently-asked-questions-concerning-executive-clemency#3
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
My reason is from personal experience. A former Pastor of mine was really interested in going into the local prisons and ministering to the inmates. They tried everything; he even had a dedicated group of men from the church ready to go.
They never could get permission .. HOWEVER, the local IMAM was more than welcome.
LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, IT’S RIGGED.
