Large rallies do not equal large votes. I hope like hell Trump wins but that statement is true. Now maybe Trump has extraordinarily large rallies and Hillary very small rallies and maybe that will prove the statement false. I hope like hell it is!
See these links for the evidence.

Trump is always getting these large crowds.
Trump could, and has, held dozens of rallies. All of them garner huge numbers. It’s the consistency that is impressive and is a positive factor.
Mondale? Seriously?
Neither are the felons and damned ILLEGAL ALIENS going to show up for Hillary.
OTOH, Trump doesn't bus people in, doesn't pay them to attend, and Florida SHALL go for Trump.
Cruzbots spouted the same crap in the primaries. “Rally attendance means nothing!”
Bullshit.
That time no social media and TV with 1000s of channel.
On social media, Hillary support is very low.
Goldwater also attracted big rallies but only in red state.
This is change election. Before 8th Nov, millions of people will be receiving Obamacare rate hike percentage. That will change lot of thing.
Trump is aggressively campaigning.
Mondale is Democrat, Boston is Democrat.
Any ways glummy Eyeore, at GOPe headquarters.
Romney your hero, never got those crowds.
Who was George Bancroft?
It’s true about size of rallies/number of votes. Millions of people don’t go to rallies but they vote. In Hillary’s case, I pray that rally size is an indicator though.
Perhaps if she had been new to the political scene, her crowds might’ve been more impressive, but she’s been around for decades, and, of course, she’s well known enough to be despised now.
Technically true. However Trump has been filling venues of 5,000-10,000 & turning away thousands more. This has been happening sometimes 2 & 3 times a day - for months.
Take a look at the pictures of people standing in line for 5-8 hours after waiting in traffic for 2 hours. People need to take a day off work to attend a Trump rally. People with this type of commitment are going to vote for Trump.
Then there are the 70K-100K watching every rally online on Facebook, RSBN & youtube, not to mention on TV. Yes, many of these people are not unique voters (they watch almost every rally) but the enthusiasm is huge for Trump.
You should check out the pictures from actual people at the rallies on the Live Trump Rally threads on FR everyday. You cannot rely on the crap reporting by the MSM.
“Large rallies do not equal large votes.”
The hell they don’t.
Rally sizes directly correlate with voter enthusiasm (or lack thereof), in the same way that concert attendance numbers directly correlate with record sales.
I can’t believe you posted links to the NY Times and Nate Silver to ‘prove’ your argument. As if those sources are respected authorities here .. LOL
Geez, man. Did you forget what we witnessed in the primary? Trump consistently had the biggest rally crowds AND drew the most votes. Trump wound up pulling the highest number of primary votes in Republican party history. He now also holds the all time record for small donor contributions, which is another strong barometer of voter support.
Mondale was never a genuine movement. Did he actually fill entire stadiums with lines stretching a mile or so out the door?
In this case, I believe crowd size will translate into votes. We have good evidence thereof based on the primaries.
Trump has consistently drawn huge crowds no matter where he goes.
For Hillary the anomaly is a huge crowd - she's your Mondale.
“Large rallies do not equal large votes.”
Historically it has. Common sense says it will.
