Donald Trump would win by a landslide if American teenagers got to choose the next president, according to a new poll.
A solid 47.1 percent of high school students backed Trump while only 32.6 percent voted for Hillary Clinton in a recent online mock election, according to After School, the countrys largest teen-focused social network. Trump also trounced Clinton in 42 of 50 states, according to the poll, in which 106,608 teens voted from Oct. 14-21 by using an app.
After School organizers told The Post they were surprised by the results but believe it shows the Selfie Generation loves The Donald because hes a political outsider who shares teens anti-establishment values.
Other reasons students gave for why they support Trump included: He is going to lower taxes and Hes not Hillary.
Overall, Trump won all 11 swing states that he is banking on to win the presidency, as well as New York, which is a stronghold with registered Democratic voters.
However, Clinton won the teen vote in New York City capturing every borough but Staten Island.
In an odd twist, Trump also raked in more votes than Clinton among high school girls, even though the poll came out a week after the leaking of the infamous 2005 Hollywood Access tape in which he bragged about grabbing women by the py. Trump still earned 40 percent of the teen girl vote while Clinton took 38 percent. The mock election results would have been far different had Bernie Sanders been in the running. He connected extremely well with teens.

Have teens been a fairly good predictor in the past?? I think they have.
Everyone knows that if TRUMP takes FL, OH, and PA (and Romney States), the race is WON!
Echoing their parents. Awesome...
There is hope for the younger generation.
Maybe there is some hope for the next generation after all.
Remember when the libs wanted to lower the voting age to 15 or 16? That idea died a quick death... and this is why.
Those smoke filled rooms smell different.
My twin boys just turned 18....will be voting Trump.
I love hearing positive news, but I worry that we are consoling ourselves by cherry-picking polls like this that really don’t matter.
That said, I think most of the “real” polls are rigged. I am hoping and praying that we get a landslide (like when Reagan beat Carter) which flies in the face of all the “real” polls and takes the media, the pundits, and the pollsters by surprise.
This is very surprising since you know their school propagandists (teachers) are parroting the teacher’s union line to them.
28 percent of teens can vote. 18 and 19 year olds can vote.
This is likely a good predictor up into the early 20’s.
No thanks. In fact, the voting age should be raised to 30.
My 19 year old already voted Trump by absentee ballot. A friend’s daughter that age voted Trump as well.
Weekly Reader poll used to be accurate, but Scholastic bought them out and the kid’s paper has gone liberal so guess who is winning.
I think that in general they reflect their parents’ votes.
While ‘grabbing women by the py.’ shocks many old folks (they say) it’s not a big deal to LOTs of teens, even girls. It’s gone from locker room to school hall and public transportation.
An odd thing I noticed 6+ years ago when my kids were in school and I rode a bus daily was that boys would talk like this when the didn’t notice an adult was around. Girls would talk to each other like this when they know I’m standing or sitting there - they just didn’t care.
These were the teens who grew up giving Lewinskys on the 5th grade (yes FIFTH grade) bus because BJ Clinton said it was ok. Today’s teens are younger than that but no doubt learned from the older ones.
Maybe younger millennials aren’t the trigglypuffs that their slightly older peers are.
Some teens can vote, and more importantly, this shows Hillary’s lack of appeal to the millennial generation. She’s got nothing for them and they aren’t going to waste time voting for her. I’ve been touring colleges with my two teens and the lack of Hillary support compared to what Obama had is stunning. And important. The young vote matters and if they don’t turn iut for Hillary like they did Obama, it can have a significant impact in places like Colorado and Wisconsin.
I can't explain it, but it gives me hope.
