Before we examine the early voting numbers this year, lets take a look back at 2012 and see how the early voting results compared to the actual outcome. Four years ago, Democrats seemed to hold a substantial lead in North Carolina, with the numbers on November 4th showing Barack Obama with a clear advantage over Mitt Romney:
But this was an example where the early numbers ended up being misleading, as Mitt Romney went on to win North Carolina by two percentage points.
This is to say that while these early voting results can often be quite telling, and while many times they predict the winner of a state, they should not be treated as gospel.
Just like in 2012, at the moment, the Democrats hold a clear advantage over the Republicans in North Carolina. According to the North Carolina Board of Elections, as of October 22nd, 2.7 million Democrats have voted in North Carolina compared to 2.1 million Republicans. About 31,000 Libertarians have voted, and another two million people have voted who are not affiliated with any party.

Wikipedia lists the population in NC at 2015 to be about 10 million people (including children). This article is saying 2.7 million Dems voted early, 2 million already voted that are Republicans, and 2 million independents have voted. 67% of the population of the state already voted? That’s like 100% of eligible voters. Who is this joker?
, “2.7 million Democrats have voted in North Carolina compared to 2.1 million Republicans. About 31,000 Libertarians have voted, and another two million people have voted who are not affiliated with any party.”
Total LIE 2.7 million Democrats Have Not Voted, that is the number of REGISTERED Democrats in NC. Either you are Lying on Propose, or massively Misinformed.
Yeah, this guy’s on crack. He’s looking at the stats for all registered voters in the entire state and thinking it’s the results of early voting...lol
Hell of a turnout considering that North Carolina has
something under 10,000,000 population.
Hate to hear that. I live deep in the hills but am from Wake County.
Do u happen to know where the NCGOP is going to celebrate Trump’s win on Election night? I’m sure Raleigh, but where in Raleigh? I want to come. I want to celebrate.
Thx

In 2012, NC cast a final tally of 5 million or so votes.
Doofus blogger Brendan Morrow at heavy.com would have us believe that around 7 million NC votes have already been cast in 2016. LOL, there’s your vote fraud right there!
Shheeeeeit! Move a few hours Norther to Erie or Venango Co. They have two seasons up there; winter and the Fourth of July.
Trump is not going to win in a landslide. He might win, but it will be very close...mirroring previous Republican victories this millennium.
Bear in mind just about every battleground state has big cities, and the votes in those cities rarely go Republican. That due as much to culture as demographics.
And every county is stuff FULL of Democratic officials posing as public employees. They are the people who will tally the votes...each and every one of them can come up with an extra 10,000 or more votes as needed to offset the "rednecks" in the country.
There may not be enough of us.
Don’t underestimate the number of dead voters, mentally ill, illegal aliens and paid homeless the DNC / HRC are now actively bringing to the polls.
The dead are the unaffiliated, the illegals are the unaffiliated. Do you really think those ballots are going to hold Trump votes?
In 2012 there were about 4.5 million total votes cast in NC.
What people who do not live in NC forget is that the last time it went Democrat before 2008 was 1976 when a Southern Baptist peanut farmer from Georgia narrowly beat Gerald Ford to take the state. The Democrats usually held sway on a local level and even in the governorship, but Republicans often prevailed in National elections. Consider that Jesse Helms was a US Senator from NC for 20 years. Liddy Dole was also a Republican Senator from NC. She would probably have served at least one more term had not Kay Hagan (a weak candidate whose claim to fame was that she was the niece of former Florida Governor Lawton Chiles) had the good fortune to run against her in 2008 when Barak Obama was running for POTUS. Most of the state is fairly conservative, except for the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte areas.
Maybe lots of carpet baggers and illegals have moved in the last four years ... ;)
An aunt and uncle of mine live a few miles beyond Shelby itself and it’s a very nice area. Lots of farmland and some horses. Very pretty.
I’d love to live around there.
half of Maryland has moved to the Triangle
Charlotte used to be a pretty good place up until the mid 90s or so.
I saw my first Clinton/Kaine signs today in North Carolina. There aren’t any over the border in East Tennessee, so my wife and I wandered over into the ‘comfortable shoe zones’ north of Asheville (Hot Springs, Weaverville); and there they were.
100 counties? ‘tis nothing. Georgia has 159, second only to Texas which has 254.
“half of Maryland has moved to the Triangle”
Perhaps that explains how those of us still up here got Larry Hogan elected governor.
