The U.S.economy only needs to generate about 75,000 jobs and possibly as few as 50,000 each month to maintain a healthy labor market, according to a study released Monday by the San Francisco Fed.
Thats down sharply from the 192,000 average payroll gains seen over the past three months.
Because the economy is close to what the Fed calls full employment, the future is less about creating an even stronger labor market than about maintaining a healthy one, said San Francisco Fed President John Williams in a speech last week.

Are these people insane?
My god, I remember back during the Reagan/Bush years, the conventional wisdom was that unless you added at least 400,000 jobs a month, unemployment would increase and it would show you are going into recession. I don’t think the figures have been that high since the Obama Depression started in 2008.
Unless a Republican is President in which case 200,000 plus jobs a month is “worse economy since Hubert Hoover”.
It’s Odungoville....there’s no accountability
No wonder there’s no big sweat about 45 to 90 million able bodied people out of work.
Yes, let’s see how few jobs we can generate per month while still being able to say Obama is a big success as President.
Oh the wind blew and the **** flew!
They are defining whatever happens under Barack Hussein and whatever happens under Hillary (God forbid!) to be healthy. Biased studies disgust me, as do the biased journalists who push false narratives.
It’s rare that I read something as deluded as this article.
Unless a Republican is President in which case 200,000 plus jobs a month is “worse economy since Hubert Hoover”.
Or it could also lose jobs and put everyone on welfare and it would still be healthy. Or, really, whatever.
Easy to say if your not in the private sector where a massive recovery is needed.
If you take out Texas’s employment growth during Obumble’s reign of error, there has been NO job growth in eight years. Since he sabotaged the US oil industry in favor of Iran’s oil industry, that bright spot is gone, and US job creation will be in the toilet if Clinton is in office.
Want to know what liars these guys are? Just counting LEGAL immigrants, we are bringing in something like 65,000 people per month into USA.
More proof that liberals can’t do math, and why they want to label math as racist and sexist.
>>Are these people insane?
No. They are Globalists. Economic health is not measured in the American Worker’s security. For them, economic health is a scorecard of how well they are doing at shifting all the wealth to those who don’t spend it in the USA.
This is about the global equalization of wages, so all nations can become labor centers for the Elites.
We live in an age of lies.
Oh my God they are trying on every single level, drilling down to the basest level to try to make Trump lose!! This is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen and we must be vigilant! We must vote and we must get Trump in the presidency!! This is truly the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. And once he is in office everyone must hold congress’s feet to the fire to ensure that the president and his cabinet are given true and accurate information regarding military Intel et al. I don’t trust this entire government!!!
