Pamela Buttery noticed something peculiar six years ago while practicing golf putting in her 57th-floor apartment at the luxurious Millennium Tower. The ball kept veering to the same corner of her living room.
Those were the first signs for residents of the sleek, mirrored high-rise that something was wrong.
The 58-story building has gained notoriety in recent weeks as the "leaning tower of San Francisco." But it's not just leaning. It's sinking, too.

"When is this building going to stop sinking?" asks Jerry Dodson, an attorney and engineer who paid $2.1 million in 2009 for his two-bedroom apartment on the 42nd floor.Penthouses have sold for more than $10 million.
The tower's troubles are apparent in its five-floor underground garage, where Porsches and Lamborghinis sit near walls bearing floor-to-ceiling cracks, many bracketed by stress gauges to measure growth.
Meanwhile, accusations and lawsuits are piling up.
I'd never pay that much money to live in earthquake-prone Sodom and Gomorrah. Next up: rich leftists suing each other - time for Orville Reddenbacher!

I smell a class action lawsuit.
The lawyers will walk away with a bundle and the apartment owners will still take a financial bath.

Everybody knows building on bay mud fill requires sinking the foundation down to bedrock. At least for big heavy buildings like this. How in hell SF allowed this monstrosity to be floated atop the ooze — !? It’s so extremely unacceptable a building practice in that location — there must really have been serious bribes or payoffs involved. Follow the $!!!!

The damned thing is so big and massive — if it has to be pulled down before it falls down , can this disassembly job even be done ?? ??

Yep——System is so corrupted and rigged and needed fixing 100 years ago-—the Lawyers and judges and bankers are the real winners to defraud the masses out of their hard-earned private property.
Of course, it is always the lawyers and judges who “fix” the system-—LOL.
The masses are “dupes” (useful idiots) being run by an evil cartel system which the “judges” deem “constitutional”-—LOL.

I'll take your word for it. Even if the building is sound from an engineering perspective, the
perception of there being something wrong is gonna play havoc with the condos valuation.

Did they allow women to start playing golf? Did I miss something?

Jerry will soon have a garden apartment in the building. Maybe it was all part of the design - you know, the elevator stays put and the building moves?

Might be an euphemism.
Ball in the hole, and all.
To: Ray76
The ball kept veering to the same corner of her living room. Brings a whole new meaning to the term "Balls to the wall."

Perhaps the building is just getting ahead of the curve for the Sci-Fi world envisioned in Hugh Howey's

Bedrock in that part of town is 240 feet. The builders tried using friction pilings.
