How Do I Explain My Trump Nazi Nightmare to My Mexican American Daughter?

I have a terrible recurring dream. I’m hiding in the attic with Anne Frank and she’s calling me “Kitty.” I tell her that I have to go, I don’t know where my daughter is, and she turns to me and tells me that we can’t go anywhere. We are in hiding and we must stay this way until the war is over. All of a sudden, I hear boots on the stairs and the door swings open and it’s Donald J. Trump — only he’s naked, wearing a swastika sweatband on his head, and he says, “I think Islam hates us.”

I wake up sweating. I had this same dream for three consecutive nights in a row — only every night when Trump shows up in the nude wearing his Third Reich workout headband, he says something different. The second night of the dream he says, “I’m deporting your daughter even though she was born in New York.” The third night he looks at Anne Frank and says, “you’re fired.”

I am Jewish. My wife is from Mexico, and also Jewish. She’s here legally and has been a citizen for about 11 years. Both of our children are Texas-born (and when they are old enough they will not be voting for Democrats). Therefore, I have a lot in my life that is similar to some of the author’s life experiences, so I am in a pretty good position to comment about this story. The difference is that I am sane and she is not.

While I have no illusions that Donald Trump is a perfect human being (none of us are), I know for a fact that Trump is nothing but an American patriot. His daughter converted to Judaism and his two sons married women who are Jewish according to Jewish law. Thus, all of his grandchildren are Jewish. Trump not only has no problem with that fact, but well before any of his children were married he was a strong supporter of Israel. He is, in short, the antithesis of what this nutcase believes him to be. If any person is to be feared by Jews in this country, it is Hillary Clinton. Clinton has taken enormous sums of money from the Saudis and other rabidly anti-gun Israel and anti-Jewish Arab countries, and she owes them something for all of that money. While she mouths pro-Israel statements, in reality most of her actions as Secretary of State have proven that she is as anti-israel as Obama. She’s not only not a friend of the Jews, she is one of our worst enemies, because she hides her hatred and can do pretty much anything that she wants to regarding Israel while hiding behind the fig leaf of all of her pro-Israel statements.

Additionally, it is all but certain that Hillary Clinton will attempt to ban most, if not all, firearms in this country. That will leave minorities including Jews pretty much defenseless - against governments, which are the only entities that have the power to commit a genocide. I had distant relatives murdered during the Holocaust, so I have studied it extensively. I have yet to see films or read stories about Jews leaving the cattle cars with guns in their hands. The simple fact is that history proves that only a defenseless people can be subjected to genocide. Hillary Clinton would leave the Jews as defenseless as they were in Europe during the Nazi regime. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is fully in favor of Second Amendment rights and will protect my rights and my children’s rights regarding firearms. I fear nothing under a Trump presidency, while I have a great dread of a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Anna Keller is, tragically, a perfect example of the morally ungrounded, neurotic, illogical, ultra-liberal New York City Jewish woman. I had the displeasure of being set up on blind dates with several like her, and I ditched them as soon as I could. I simply cannot stand the absolute lack of common sense, and the reality-free attitude, that people like Keller have. That she is a writer and can influence others only magnifies the tragedy here.
