Early voting in Illinois got off to a rocky start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats.
Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library.
I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent, Moynihan said. You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.
He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidates party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race

An abacus would be more reliable.
EVENTUALLY ALLOWED?? OMG....we are a Banana Republic.
Good catch TG
What about everybody else’s votes?
Dems can’t win if they tell the truth and don’t cheat.
Meantime you can see some depressing stuff here: http://blackboxvoting.org/
Far as I can tell there was never a fix even announced much less verified. Oh and the states using these machines are significant swing states.
Never mind. Its too late. Sigh. Diebold & Smartmatic search ...
The article is from the 2014 election. Misleading here with a 2016 publish date.
Better odds at a slot machine.
What matters is who counts the votes.
Based on your comment, all of the machines can be trusted and there is no chance for any voter fraud. That’s how it was presented when the machines were introduced 20 years ago and I did not believe it then.
A touch screen calibration error would result likely in being off a few pixels or so - not inches or half-inches like ballot choices are separated. To get that far off it would seem to me the miscalibration would have to be INTENTIONAL.
Why not this, If there is reason to believe fraud is taking place ALL votes from this state will be null and void! This may get those responsible to do something to fix the problem in that state
Must be some of George Soros’ machines.
That was orchestrated to get rid of audit-trail voting. The gullible dolts who sought the full computerized machines bought the lies that Soros was already implementing to what it is today.
The hanging chad debacle set the whole ting into play. In Jacksonville, we use something of a hybrid that still has paper but it is recorded by a scanner that does not provide an audit receipt to validate what it read. It only looks to see if there is a mark in each race to validate it as a good ballot. The other issue I have with it is there is nothing that keeps the software from altering anything of what was marked on the paper.
Even if an audit receipt was printed out, there is no guarantee that the machine could not have dual buffers, one for the receipts and one for the digitally transferred results.
My comment merely pointed out the article is from 2014. It addressed nothing you suggest.
Perhaps you haven’t had your coffee this morning?
I have worked with several types of these machines This happened twice. The first was a man whose hand was shaking so bad that he kept hitting the wrong button. Solution -use the visually impaired screen where the buttons were far apart. The other time was a woman with very long fingernails. She aimed her finger tip at the correct spot, but her nail hit the spot above. I watched her do this and had her be careful.
This kind of machine is ripe for human tampering because it requires a programmer to determine “screen mapping.” That is the process of dividing the screen into sectors sensitive to touch and then coding the touch of a particular sector to a particular candidate.
Not just this machine in the precinct, but all machines need to be embargoed and examined and current votes voided. This is not something that happens out in the field. It took place where all machines were readied for 2016.
The provisional ballots are only counted if their numbers might affect the final outcome of a particular race once the voting is closed. They are eventually counted once they can be verified as not a double or multiple vote and the voter is validated to be eligible.
Your comment suggests that the incident is not pertinent to 2016. Therefore I should blindly accept the results of this election.
