If we let the Clinton Cartel run this government, history will record that 2017 was the year America lost its independence.
We will not let that happen.
It is time to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.
That is why I am proposing a package of ethics reforms to make our government honest once again.
First: I am going to institute a 5-year ban on all executive branch officials lobbying the government after they leave government service.
Second: I am going to ask Congress to institute its own 5-year ban on lobbying by former members of Congress and their staffs.
Third: I am going to expand the definition of lobbyist so we close all the loopholes that former government officials use by labeling themselves consultants and advisors when we all know they are lobbyists.
Fourth: I am going to issue a lifetime ban against senior executive branch officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
Fifth: I am going to ask Congress to pass a campaign finance reform that prevents registered foreign lobbyists from raising money in American elections.

I share the emotional impulse to do something about these lifetime crooks. However, term limits on elected officials doesn't address the full problem. Elected official are already to some extent captives to permanent staff and bureaucracies. Unless that pool of unelected, permanently entrenched power is addressed the problem will be made worse. (A humourous view of the problem is depicted in the Brit TV series
Yes, Minister and its sequel.)
Additionally, the unconstitutional power of the executive bureaucracy - the administrative state - needs to be curbed. Somehow, Congress must be placed back into its proper legislative role and the executive prevented from arrogating that power to itself. And Congress prevented from again abdicating this role. I would consider restoring the spoils system, bad as it was. At least the clog got flushed periodically.

The time for Congressional term limits has arrived. It actually arrived 30 years ago or more. Imagine all the misery that could have been avoided if we'd had term limits back then.
This will be fought tooth and nail by the Uniparty. Last thing they want is to lose power.

I used to think make
everybody run every four years.
Now I believe, make them all run every two years. The honest agitatus that Trump delivers would be successful going forward if we were on an endless election cycle.

IMHO, there should be term limits on the Supreme Court!

This is it. This is the declaration of open warfare. If he wins, they’re going to try to assassinate him. They will not let this happen.

Sounds great, but the only way to impose these limits is through a Constitutional Amendment that needs to go through Congress itself.
States have imposed their own limits or their own representatives and they were found to be unconstitutional.
(I would also add "stupid" -- if you limit your own state while the others do what they want, you will always have the junior members of the governing body.)
