Large early turnout in Paulding County
News from Georgia
Wee new what u mint:) I screw it up often.
Saw a brief clip from WSB-TV in Atlanta yesterday, and they reported 3-5 hour wait times to vote. Crowd outside the polling place had only a few minority voters; not sure if it was in a suburban area or in Cobb or Fulton counties. If it was inside the city limits, the Dims appear to be in serious trouble, because key elments of the Obama coalition—at least in that crowd—were noticeably absent.
It was Gwinnett County, Demos:
White: 442,511 (52.55%, #130)
Black: 208,408 (24.75%, #95)
Hispanic: 171,142 (20.32%, #5)
Asian: 91,934 (10.92%, #1)
Native (American Indian, Alaska Native, Hawaiian Native, etc.): 3,489 (0.41%, #26
Keep an eye out for more women in line than men..that’s an indication the beast is pulling in the female vote!
Same story in the People’s Republic of Athens/Clarke County, though. Heavy early voting the first two days. It seems that both sides are very energized.
You have to account for their age and where they are. Paulding County women don’t vote Dem.
Hmmm I voted in douglasville...none of the people seemed like trump supporters...
In the 90s, Gwinnett was strongly Republican. As the demographics have changed over the past 10 to 20 years, it is becoming more competitive. I have some good friends originally from Houston who moved to Lilburn in 1992. They loved it there at first. Then the area started to change. They moved to Canton (Cherokee County) in 2013. The gentleman friend always says that Gwinnett County has ceased to exist. It is now “DeKalb County East”.
Democrats always get out the early vote, but to see GOP voters out voting early shows some enthusiasm.
The most decisive factor in Georgia is the relative African-American turnout. Up, and Hillary could come close. Moderate or Down, and not a chance.
True. And I plan to vote tomorrow.
I moved to Alabama in 2013 but when I lived in Douglasville and early voted, I was that stray white out speck in a novel of dark ink.
They aren’t.
Race Population % of Total
Total Population 30,961 100
Black or African American 17,297 55%
White 11,144 35%
Hispanic or Latino 2,243 7%
Some Other Race 1,018 3%
Two or More Races 855 2%
Asian 559 1%
[key elments of the Obama coalitionat least in that crowdwere noticeably absent.]
They might have been voting in another states.
I think this is an unusual election
Howdy neighbor. Good News. Paulding is solid Trump country. I live there
I live in Paulding. It is solid Trump country.
Douglasville isn’t Paulding.
