Wasn’t Scalia Catholic? It seems odd that a prominent Catholic would be cremated. In some places, when someone dies alone in unexplained circumstances, an autopsy is automatic before local authorities can sign off on the body.

Scalia was a staunch Catholic. Weird that he would be cremated. It is acceptable but not many Catholics I know have it done.

Cremation was NOT acceptable in the Catholic Church back when Scalia was growing up.
