The NFL continues to get sacked.
Monday Night Footballs Bucs-Panthers game saw ratings tumble 24 percent versus the same Week 5 game a year ago.
Over the first five weeks, ratings are down more than 10 percent.

The radio sports talk guys are twisting themselves into pretzels trying to maintain that it’s NOT Kaepernick.
This morning one of the local schmucks simply hung-up on a cop who was trying to make that case.
Sane people don’t care for drama. Pro sports have a growing off-field drama problem. Sane people are leaving.
Same here. They hung too much crap (commercials, PC, politics) onto what used to be a beautiful game. Over the past few years I found myself getting more and more irritated at having to wade through all the junk just to see a few minutes of game.
The kneelers and sitters were the last straw. To my surprise, I don’t miss watching the Steelers at all.
Yup, there is plenty of hypocrisy in these programs. I think they are just trying to attract women viewers. Or is that being to cynical?
I agree on the pink. Made a comment Sunday- and the wife replied with all the people we know who have fought breast cancer. I said it’s great to support them and donate for research/care/treatment and to raise awareness. But that doesn’t mean you gotta wear pink.
I regret that I can only “not watch” each ratings-monitored game on one occasion: Otherwise, I would “not watch” it on several occasions. ...
One reason for the decline is that over 250,000 per month have been canceling cable subscriptions. That’s over 3 million per year. We just did yesterday. Done with the $160/month Comcast bill for shows that are now more commercials than content and On-Demand no longer allows fast forwarding through commercials. Movie costs for On-Demand are now 1/2 the price to just buy the DVD ($5 to $8 On-Demand rent, $14 to buy).
More shows are now proprietary to services Netflix. These shows are not on cable. Cable is dying fast, real fast. Production companies find they make more money on paid services than through cable. Cable limits what is shown while Netflix, and others, allow far more shows.
Football is carried on primarily cable. They had better find more outlets.
“If these millionaires wanted to save breasts, they could announce they were each giving a million dollars to their communities to pay for mammograms for women.”
Exactly. ‘Pink’ is just a way for a lot of liberals to get rich on the cancer subject while giving nearly nothing to actual cancer cures. ‘Pink’ is a ripoff.
What org does the money go to? Or what awareness is increased? We women get the lecture from our docs yearly at age 50 use to be 40, should be 20. And taught the difference between Fibrocystic Cyst and cancer tumors. Had mine last year, swore never again until they made changes in that Mid-evil torture device.
If people push for Komen they get the cold shoulder as she gives parts of donations to PP to abort babies. There is NO other service they offer. Not 1 mammo or pap smear.
Yeah I agree I’ll watch the Packers and if a team has a player on the field I want to see. Speaking honestly and forthrightly I don’t think they value white men and since they denigrate me and the things I value I am just drifting away. Much like when that racial bigot Michael Jordan (he is or was) came to dominate the NBA I did not really get mad I just drifted away while they went the Allan Iverson route.
The entertainment ‘industry’ as a whole has decided that it’s somehow entitled not only to our money but also to preach perverse values to all of us.
Whether it’s the NFL, movie actors, music, or whatever, these guys need to be reminded in the only language they hear (money) that _we_ are the people that pay their bills, not some vocal SJW group or the 0.01% pseudo-elite.
Let it just die.
They only offered a lower priced package but no deal at all. “If price is the reason then we have lower cost options.” Morons didn’t understand it wasn’t the price but everything else.
#Boycott NFL
I have not watched one game this season and I will not until the disrespect stops.
I have told several advertisers that I will not support them while they support the NFL.
Very small part, but I am playing it!
In days of old, if a court jester tried to lecture the King, he would be quartered.....Entertainers: You are paid to play the fool....do your job!
As you bring up the NBA thing....I have to admit....I probably haven’t really watched any NBA games since Larry Bird retired. Even if I’m in a airport and waiting....if there’s a game on the screen....it doesn’t interest me.
Yeah, it’s been 24 years since he retired and I just don’t care anymore. I look back at the teams of the 1970s and 1980s....and I think most all of them could take on 95-percent of the NBA teams today and cream them. The league I think....is just a bunch of college-level kids and maybe ten players who are real NBA-potential players.
I’d bet that a huge number of fans who are deciding not to tune in are Trump voters. I’d like to see the percentages reported translated into actual numbers.
Jeppesen is in the same failing position right now. They produced paper navigation charts for aviation. They owned the market. They had the mandate to go digital since at least 1993. They have failed to do so after spending over $1 billion. Total mismanagement has caused their failure. They hired MBA/PMP types instead of engineers and professional aviators. In fact, they HATE pilots. The culture is pro-MBA and anti-engineer and anti-pilot. They continue to see their revenues decline and constantly have layoffs. Yet, the genius executives at Jeppesen can’t figure out why this is happening.
