Yeah and in Texas, there’s probably little need to worry about persuading people who to vote for. They have all the Republicans they need and merely need to turn them out.
If he’s calling registered Republicans that would be effective.
Cruz, like Ryan, has determined that Mr. Trump just might win the election and Mr. Cruz does not wish to become irrelevant after.
He called me yesterday. I didn't recognize the number, and when I picked up the phone, I heard a recorded message that said: "This is Ted Cruz . . . ."
Although I was a Cruz supporter in the past (voted for him in my state primary), as soon as I heard his name I hung up and so didn't hear the whole message. I did briefly wonder why he was calling. But thanks to this article, now I know.
“I wonder if Cruz would like to be on SCOTUS.”
It’s a pretty good bet he’ll be looking for a job in 2018.
Nope. Sorry. Not buying it. Kiss up. He’s already shown his true colors. He sees the writing on the wall, both Trump’s election and Cruz’ non-election in the next Senate race.
Re: No one expected this?
Is Red State that blind? that deaf?
50% said Cruz would back Trump 100% whole heartedly.
25% said Cruz would back Trump half-heartedly.
20% said they didn’t know.
Very small percentage thought Cruz was #nevertrump.
For most of us it was a question of timing. When would it help Cruz (and Trump) the most. The conventional wisdom has always been that endorsements close to election day have much more sway than endorsements in the middle of summer.
Cruz timing is best for Trump.
One of our problems is that we don’t think strategically nor tactically. We get impatient. In most states election day is Oct 12 ... to Nov 8. Everything prior has just been preparation for the real event.
She was a CFR employee for five years. (I believe it was five years) That is a massive red flag to me.
I had some questions about her being found on the side of the road suicidal as well.
I don’t think we’ve heard the full story yet, so I think Tead was playing fast and loose with us.
Thanks for the mention.
He’s worried about 2018.
Yep. But I don’t trust him in a Trump Admin.
Cruz pushed and voted for the original deal and thus is one of the authors of the whole Iran fiasco.
“Because Ted Cruz sees that Trump has a REAL chance of winning and wants to be in his Administration”
That’s the way I see it. Cruz wants something from Trump.
His folks must have done a little polling and finally realized how badly Tantrum Ted had shot himself in the foot with the Texas voters.
Well .. he didn’t stay with the never Trump people, so I can forget the momentary lapse of sanity.
He thought he was going to be the nominee .. but I don’t think he realized the “movement” was bigger than HIM. I also believe Beck was egging Cruz on .. using him to get into the “circle”, so to speak. And .. when that didn’t work for Beck, Beck started bad-mouthing the RNC and Cruz foolishly (my judgement) went along.
But, I recall one of his last public statements about not pursuing the nomination, I saw the look on his wife’s face. I study how to read people .. and she was not a happy camper; but she wasn’t crying. I didn’t get the sense she was unhappy because he wasn’t the nominee, but because he was bad-mouthing Trump.
Happy wife, happy life. She went back to work - but in a much better position than she was in when she took the leave of absence; proving how strong she is.
All together; I believe this will revive Cruz, teach him a powerful lesson (don’t let anyone tell you you’re destined to be anything) .. ONLY GOD CAN TELL YOU THAT .. and then you are required to keep it to yourself.
I just hope people will give Cruz a little slack and let him prove that he’s really on the right track this time.
>>NO one expected this???
>I did!
A very small group of people predicted it. I wasn’t one of them. Ted’s always so politically tone deaf that he’s hard to predict.
Yep.
Both men, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, showed their butts at times during the primaries. However, Ted Cruz was by far the greatest offender in relentless lying about Trump and smearing him at every turn.
And we certainly saw which of the two was the most forgiving and the first one willing to extend an olive branch and make peace, Donald Trump.
Anyway, having said this, I am a big believer in redemption. And hearing how Ted Cruz turned on Glenn Beck and cut those apron strings that he was tied to, makes me think he may have indeed come to his senses and wants to genuinely help out.
If I were Trump, I would continue to welcome Ted Cruzes support, but I would not completely trust him.
“A little late... Would have really been helpful at RNC convention.”
I agree with you. But it is still in time to make some difference.
