50% said Cruz would back Trump 100% whole heartedly.
25% said Cruz would back Trump half-heartedly.
20% said they didn’t know.
Very small percentage thought Cruz was #nevertrump.
For most of us it was a question of timing. When would it help Cruz (and Trump) the most. The conventional wisdom has always been that endorsements close to election day have much more sway than endorsements in the middle of summer.
Cruz timing is best for Trump.
One of our problems is that we don’t think strategically nor tactically. We get impatient. In most states election day is Oct 12 ... to Nov 8. Everything prior has just been preparation for the real event.
If strategic timing was the issue, it’s a major fail. Cruz’ popularity sank like a rock after his convention song and dance. I visit other conservative sites, and his name is now a joke. As in, the butt of many. I could give you links.
As for helping Trump, I haven’t seen that either. When former supporters have turned hard against a politician, it’s hard to argue they have great influence.
