So far this storm is a big nothing.
Pray America wakes
I think about 50 mph steady winds somewhere SE of Melbourne now. But the eyewall is still well offshore and the winds will be dramatically higher there. I think everyone from Melbourne south can ignore the hurricane warnings now, winds will be offshore and diminishing.
I vaguely noticed earlier that people saw winds much lower than was reported. Is it possible that the radar feed was tweaked?
Matthew hasn’t (yet) delivered the wind event that the MSM got hysterical about due to the relatively small eye wall that just missed Nassau and has stayed offshore so far - but the storm surge risk for N. FL, GA, and SC is still very high if it keeps hugging the coast like this.
