Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

Nah, I believe that was sarcasm noting the usual MSM disaster hype.
I could just as easily say that the RATs are probably drooling over the possibility that a red county might be taken out of the electoral process, helping Florida go blue.
And that might even be true.
Hey I got family down in Fla....knock it off with the jokes.
Unfortunately, the earlier post erroneously (and dangerously) intimated that a pressure must be below 900 to cause catastrophic damage. This is a an uninformed, false statement.
“What is a millibar 900?”
Millibar refers to the sea level atmospheric pressure at the center of the storm. The lower the pressure reading, the more powerful the storm.
900 is extremely low and indicates a very powerful storm.
“Hurricane Matthew is an extremely dangerous and deadly storm with the potential for widespread catastrophic property damage and economic impacts. Take some time to research the topic.”
I live in Florida and I am used to the media hype machine. I’ve seen plenty of hurricanes and survived them all even though CNN said I had no chance.
Thank-you for the info!
LOL you don’t mean they are desperate for viewers now do you!!
Yeah..but did they have the death skull image. That was pretty creepy.
Keeping an eye out for track changes.
At one time it looked like it was aimed straight at our double wide vacation home behind Holden Beach, NC.
Any place else is fine with me.
FL will never go blue.
The Dems forget that there are those who also vote Dems that are in possible harm’s way.
Plus you have the Panhandle so FL will stay red.
Trump should announce a contingency to delay the Sunday debate given the impact of Hurricane Matthew.
It is better to be seen as caring.
And Hurricane Sandy was a photo-op for President Obama; he’ll give Hillary that same opportunity.
Thanks for the links. That mikes weather page is great. Earily calm winds right now down here in northern broward. For anyone who has accordion shutters, that advice to oil them once a year is spot on. Mine were almost rusted useless. Not good to deal with as this thing approaches. Fortunately I was able to get them all shut. I’ll never let that slide again. Best of luck to everyone and hopefully this stays off shore.
....Or this could work to Mr. Donald’s advantage. Remember when he made the visit to flood stricken LA and brought in stuff?
this thing is probably a 4 now.
This storm is unique in the path it is forecast to take. That combined with the explosive growth at the coast will cause long term changes to the area due to the widespread destruction.
The storm is forecast to rake over a hundred miles of the most populated communities in the state as a major hurricane.
Earlier it was reported half the population in Brevard Co. was ignoring evac orders. If other areas in the path are the same(probably are), then caring for the injured and newly homeless will cripple local responders and resources.
Prayers to all in the area, and hope all can find a safe port for this event.
Trump owns multiple So. FL properties in the path of the storm. I expect he will respond in kind.
Some people!...For those who tend to want to stay put, they should keep an eye on the millibar readings. IF it gets down to under 900, it might just be too late. I really resent having strangers malign what I’ve tried to say. Get it straight, people, okay? I did NOT say something by not saying something else first. Communication doesn’t really work that way, but miscommunication does.
We need to equate the millibars in barometric numbers as well such as 28.50 or what ever so everyone knows what is going on.
Actually I agree.....it was sarcasm
But those of us riding this out, or have friends, relatives, homes riding this out.....
.....are extra sensitive, and for good reason.
I have a sister in law sitting at ground zero ( Cocoa Beach) who refuses to budge......pleadings, begging fall on deaf ears
She could easily join her sister across the causeway, but won’t
She’s lived there over 40 years and is tired of evacuating
