Pope Francis said on Sunday that homosexuals and transsexuals should be treated with respect but that teaching gender theory is unacceptable "indoctrination" of young people.
"When a person (who is gay) arrives before Jesus, Jesus certainly will not say, 'Go away because you are homosexual,'" Francis said.

“he shows little or no sign of ever having seen a Bible, more or less reading one”
Except for the fact that he has read the Bible probably more often than you ever will:
Pope Francis last year penned an introduction to the German edition of the YouCat Bible:
My dear young friends:
If you could see my Bible, you would not be particularly impressed. Whatthats the Popes Bible? Such an old, worn-out book!
You could buy me a new one for $1,000, but I would not want it. I love my old Bible, which has accompanied me half my life. It has been with me in my times of joy and times of tears. It is my most precious treasure. I live out of it, and I wouldnt [take] anything in the world for it.
I really like this new Youth Bible. Its so colorful, so rich in testimonies: testimonies of the saints, testimonies of young people. It is so inviting that when you start to read at the beginning, you cant stop until the last page.
And then ? And then it disappears on a shelf, collecting dust. Your children find it one day and bring it to the flea market.
It must not come to that.
Ill tell you something: There are more persecuted Christians in the world today than in the early days of the Church. And why are they persecuted? They are persecuted because they wear a cross and bear witness to Jesus. They are convicted because they own a Bible. The Bible is therefore a highly dangerous bookso dangerous that you are treated in some countries as if you were hiding hand grenades in your closet. It was a non-Christian, Mahatma Gandhi, who once said: You Christians look after a document containing enough dynamite to blow all civilization to pieces, turn the world upside down, and bring peace to a battle-torn planet. But you treat it as though it is nothing more than a piece of literature.
So what do you have in your hands? A piece of literature? Some nice old stories? Then you would have to say to the many Christians who go to prison or are tortured because they own a Bible: How foolish you are; its just a piece of literature! No. By the word of God has Light come into the world, and it will never go out. In Evangelii Gaudium (175) I said, We do not blindly seek God, or wait for him to speak to us first, for God has already spoken, and there is nothing further that we need to know, which has not been revealed to us. Let us receive the sublime treasure of the revealed word.
So you have something divine in your hands: a book like fire! A book through which God speaks. So notice: The Bible is not meant to be placed on a shelf, but to be in your hands, to read oftenevery day, both on your own and together with others. You do sports together or go shopping together. Why not read the Bible together as welltwo, three, or four of you? In nature, in the woods, on the beach, at night in the glow of a few candles you will have a great experience! Or are you afraid of making a fool of yourself in front of others? Read with attention! Do not stay on the surface as if reading a comic book! Never just skim the Word of God! Ask yourself: What does this say to my heart? Does God speak through these words to me? Has he touched me in the depths of my longing? What should I do? Only in this way can the force of the Word of God unfold. Only in this way can it change our lives, making them great and beautiful.
I want to tell you how I read my old Bible. Often I read a little and then put it away and contemplate the Lord. Not that I see the Lord, but he looks at me. Hes there. I let myself look at him. And I feelthis is not sentimentalityI feel deeply the things that the Lord tells me. Sometimes he does not speak. I then feel nothing, only emptiness, emptiness, emptiness . But I remain patiently, and so I wait, reading and praying. I pray sitting, because it hurts me to kneel. Sometimes I even fall asleep while praying. But it does not matter. Im like a son with the father, and that is whats important. Would you like to make me happy? Read the Bible!
Pope Francis
The article is dreck. A person can be a homosexual (having homosexual tendencies) and possess heroic virtue, namely not engaging in homosexual acts. Such a person can enter Heaven, as any other sinner.
As a general rule, the “press” is utterly clueless about Catholic teaching, and even more lazy when it comes to writing about religion. Yet people lap it up, while they are quick to point out bias against conservatives by these same writers.
For those who have a bone to pick with Catholics, this type of article is all about bias confirmation and not the transmission of fact.
As usual, a tempest in a teapot.
Whats does “gay” mean? What does “homosexual” mean?
Does it mean experiencing same-sex attraction?
Or does it mean habitually engaging in sinful sexual acts, and dying unrepentant?
The Pope doesn’t define his terms, and the press doesn’t define their terms. Result: Confusion. Which is what Bergoglio is constantly sowing.
I was really looking forward to getting away from the homos in the afterlife.
That’s only in Catholic heaven, right?
It’s all out of our hands.
“No waithas he ever read it?”
More often than you have most likely:
Pope Francis, last year wrote:

Remarks by the Pope on a plane, in a homily, or at a press conference have absolutely nothing to do with the Church’s definition of Papal Infallibility.
sounds very nice, thanks
(I guess then his Bible reading didn’t sink in very well, just like JimmyCarter maybe...?)
anyway, I respected his predecessors a lot more than I can muster for him now with all his statements (at least, his statements as they;ve gotten reported)
just my viewpoint. its worth nothing more than what you paid for it..... smile smile smile
blessings, fhc

No, but according to Matthew 7:23, Jesus WILL say: “ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”.
And BTW Pope, Matthew : 21-23 is for you as well. I suggest you heed the warning.

Sorry, we didnt find any results for your search. Please try the following:
Double-check spelling, especially people and place names. Make sure there are spaces between words. Bible Gateway treats nameoftheFather and name of the Father differently.
Use fewer words in your search, especially if youre unsure of the exact phrase. For example, baptizing name Father and baptizing them in the name of the Father will both return Matthew 28:19; however, the latter leaves a greater chance for spelling and syntax errors. Retry your search in another translation.

I keep wondering how the “only one true apostolic church”, as I am told by Catholics can have such a mook as its leader supossingly picked by the Holy Spirit...guided by the hand of God...
Search the Bible for “sola scriptura.” It’s not there.
You believe a man that preaches false doctrine can actually speak infallibly for the church?
Except for the fact that he has read the Bible probably more often than you ever will:
The Bible is the Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God that does not need any social interpretation. The pope needs to let the Words of Jesus stand as the infallible Word of God.
You are searching in a Bible dictionary for a doctrine that is not even biblical?
The Papacy has produced many brilliant and original minds whose wisdom has advanced Mankind.
Unfortunately, it occasionally produces the likes of Frankie the Fool.
Yet God is merciful as this schmuck is 80 years old.
Where does he get the idea the disease-ridden child molesters would even get there in the first place.
:)
“(I guess then his Bible reading didnt sink in very well, just like JimmyCarter maybe...?)”
No, you’re missing the point. He is saying that a person can have same-sex attraction but go to heaven if they live a life of faith and holiness. Someone can suffer from same-sex attraction and NOT ACT ON IT with God’s grace. Just as married person might feel tempted to cheat but resist that temptation.
“anyway, I respected his predecessors a lot more than I can muster for him now with all his statements (at least, his statements as they;ve gotten reported)”
On that we are in total agreement. Benedict XVI was great and almost always communicated clearly. This guy doesn’t do nearly as good a job, but he is not saying you can be gay, give in to all your temptations and you’re fine with the Lord. That’s NOT what he is saying.
