This was “leaked” by Hillary’s campaign manager to attract “Republican” votes. On the one side, you have a well meaning Socialist; on the other you have a dangerous right wing kook like Trump. For everybody else in between , I am your candidate. Triangulation. Smart too because the conservatives will see it as an anti-Hillary leak, take the bait and run with it.

Why would Hillary take such a risk? They are fighting hard to keep the millenials who supported Sanders. Such a recording will hemorrhage such support, and be highly unpredictable with regard to attracting disgruntled GOP-ers. Very few right-leaning people have any notion that Hillary is a centrist.

Hillary’s economic plan amounts to raising taxes on everyone to give out free college and fight global warming with subsidies to solar panel companies.
These leaked recordings have her saying different things in private and in public. They reinforce the message that she cannot be trusted. Not good for her at all.

Clinton needs Sandinistas in a big way, and this is smug and dismissive to them. Big mistake, as it will cause more apathy and antagonism.
