The Wall Street Journal has a shocking report that adds fuel to the fire over the $1.7 billion in cash paid to the Iranians to get the hostages released.
On the same day the cash payment arrived in Tehran, the U.S. secretly agreed to back a U.N. effort to lift sanctions on two Iranian banks accused of assisting Iran's ballistic missile program.

In my opinion all this ransoming hostages as a motivation is nonsense. Obama gave money to Iran/terrorism to give money to Iran/terrorism. That’s the end goal, not getting hostages back.
The hostages were there, and used as cover for the payment.
It was the same for Bowe Bergdahl (sp?). He wanted to release a bunch of the enemy from Gitmo. Getting Bergdahl back was cover for what Obama really wanted to do.
I think you’re right
The whole hostage thing was a ruse. It was engineered to make sure that there was a cover and the Navy takes the blame.
And I ask again, “Where is Teresa Heinz Kerry?”
She has been AWOL for two years!
I’ve also heard theories that Benghazi was a pretext as well. The Administration was going to bargain the release of the Blind Sheik (of ‘93 WTC bombing fame) for the “captured” ambassador - the attackers just got out of hand (or the wrong people pre-empted the planed attack).

Starting to look a lot more like BLACKMAIL. HUSH-MONEY Cash, (a clincher) . Followed by Bank Full Faith, Credit and Control ( a double clincher ) . Followed by anything the BLACKMAILER can want desire or dream (services of the Seventh Fleet?) . Painted to be an unbelievably destructive US Nuclear collapse, and plane load, boat load, ship load, hostage thingy. No chance. PotUS is at this point, is a helpless Prussian me thinks.
