Train struck train station in Hoboken, NJ....mass casualties, reports of fatalities.
Looks to me more than “simply did not stop”.. looks like came in at cruising speed(++?)
Is there a terrorist proof door to Conductor
(Engineer, Motorman) area?
Muslim train conductor?
Thank you for the correction - New Jersey Transit line - not PATH
No terrorism.
Move on.
Nothing to see here.
Is there a “Dead Man” control on speed???
“Lost control coming into terminal.”
I used to take the Bergen County line into Hoboken years ago, the trains slow to a crawl well before nearing the Station and the trains are designed with backup systems to stop in emergencies. Very strange.
Yes, a man walking down the tracks found a device of some kind and reported it.
Live reporter WOR 710, interviewing witness - She states she saw compound fractures, cuts, said she hasn’t heard of fatalities - she saw 12 injured people, but was not close to the actual accident.
Is there a Dead Man control on speed???
Yes
Very strange. Channel 7 reporting up to 100 injuries.
Unconfirmed reports from Channel 7 people trapped on train.
I work in Jersey City, which is next door to Hoboken, and several of our fire trucks headed over to Hoboken for triage.
That’s downstairs in the PATH terminal.
Then he either passed out or died and somehow jammed the control on, or it was intentional, or someone else took control.
Is it possible a mechanical failure would keep it running despite his action??
I went through the Hoboken exchange on my to JC every day for work about 20 years ago.
Where did you hear that from? A link? Do you know when he reported it?
Thank you. Extra help from neighboring towns - certainly to help with the casualties.
No official word from NJ Transit.
I'm guessing something like mohammad Achmed Jihadi.
Or was that the name of the guy who fixed the brakes?
I wonder why....
It’s to the point now where the first thing I think is jihad.
