Back when I was a pup in the newspaper business, legendary reporter Peter Kihss gave me lifetime advice about covering politicians. Remember, he said, there are no such things as stupid questions, only stupid answers.
Which brings us to Lester Holt and the accusations that the moderator tipped Monday’s debate in favor of Hillary Clinton. Holt’s bias was obvious, but the impact was not inevitable. It mattered largely because, shockingly, Donald Trump was shocked that Holt was in the tank for Clinton.
How could Trump not see that coming? And if he did, why wasn’t he better prepared?
Holt never pressed Clinton with any substantive follow-ups, while Trump repeatedly was asked to defend or explain what he had just said or said in the past.
Holt insisted repeatedly Trump had supported the Iraq War, despite the candidate’s denials, and asked pointed questions about his taxes and the Obama birther issue. Yet Clinton got only one obligatory question on the email scandal, and not a single one about the Clinton Foundation, her Wall Street speaking fees or her health — all of which have figured far more prominently in the campaign than Iraq or the birther issue.
It was outrageous — but no surprise. After all, Holt is part of the Big Media establishment that has uniformly protected President Obama and broken all its own standards to trash Trump and elect Clinton.

Nothing else needs to be said here. Complaining about the bias of the moderator in a debate like this is the equivalent of complaining about the time the sun rose and set yesterday. The candidate -- and his campaign staff and supporters -- need to grow up and figure out how to deal with it.

Trump was hardly shocked, he just pointed the cheating out to millions, who agree with him.
He’s NOT like the loser Repub “politicians” we are used to seeing who slink back into their safe spots after they are attacked by obvious bias.He fights back.It’s NOT called “complaining” in my world.

Plenty HAS to be said, you don’t set the parameters, and you can bet that his campaign staff is well aware of what has transpired.The second debate will be monumental.

Not just 6 separate signals to Holt but those were the only times she scratched her face in that manner and it was ALWAYS followed by an interruption/response by Holt.
If it were truly an involuntary or random event one would expect no such response by Holt or that he might interrupt Trump before Illary scratched her nose/face.
Just the probability of all six occurrences happening randomly in that sequence are 1 out of 64 times. And that is without the probability of no other such random signals happening over a 90 minute debate period.
The probability of collusion here is extremely high.
As one of the commenters posted, at 5:53 Trump softly says “seizure” & nods to confirm it, as <~~~Reptilliary clearly shakes.
I disagree in this special case. Since Trump's campaign is built around the idea that corrupt insiders (media and incumbents) control our government to our detriment, evidence that the media is collaborating with the insider candidate is a huge positive for Trump. Trump clearly lost the debate on points, but he just as clearly won on the narrative. The narrative is the reason why his poll number have risen since the debate.

No, there have never been legendary reporters. These people don’t MAKE history; they only tell it. And for decades now, since the Murrows and Cronkites and Woodwards and Bernsteins became players instead of observers, they don’t even tell the story as often as they tell lies about it.
I have more respect for a bus station hooker than any reporter on earth.
Kgun channel 9 Tucson featured CNN poll like it was the only one. Not a whisper about 20 or more polls showing Trump winning.
