The only way to talk someone out of voting for Trump is to stop trying to talk them out of voting for Trump. To all my fellow progressives who’ve been busily browbeating supporters of this dangerous demagogue, you’re invited to become an early adopter of a far more rewarding, non-adversarial approach called “powerful non-defensive communication.”
According to most commentators, the prototypical Trump supporter is an uneducated, narrow-minded bigot with legitimate grievances against the faltering economy which Trump has skillfully alchemized into violent rage toward non-whites, Muslims and successful women. The Trump voter is a patriarchal authoritarian primed since early childhood to fearfully submit to a bullying father who always knows best. In the circular logic of the authoritarian mindset, might makes right — and so Trump, as the strongman, is necessarily the winner in a competition against losers.

Oy! I’ll hazard this guess — she had a lib mom and mean daddy, they split, little Erica was never Daddy’s beloved princess (girls need that), got steeped in man-hating feminism, has had shallow and unsuccessful relationships with men and has needed much attention, now as a self-proclaimed rabble rouser. I enjoy unintentional irony, and this article overflows with it. “Dangerous demagogue a” That’s Hillary. I realize that a lot of people like the writer of this bit of (rhymes with it) exist, but seeing them smear their feces on paper like this is more than I want to see. The only thing that is positive is that it gives another name to the tar and feather list of irredeemables.

He tells the truth. Since Liberalism is largely based on pretending - for instance if we ALL pretend that Bruce Jenner is female then it will be so... - it can't stand up to people who tell the truth.
In this day and age, especially among politicians, truthtelling is a rare thing. Ergo, DJT comes off in a brutal manner that snowflakes don't know how to deal with.
Personally, I think that it would be abrasive to deal with in person. But I don't need to marry the guy, I just need to hire him to be a good president. Which I think he'll do.
My Dad worked on the NY Central Railroad, was a Union member, and an avowed Democrat. My mother cleaned houses and did laundry for a few bucks a week. My Dad never completed grammar school. My mother left highschool to marry my father when she was 16. No, they didn't have to get married. Their first child, my oldest sister wasn't born until my mother was 20. My Dad never served in the military. He was too young for WWI, and about 37 when Pearl Harbor was bombed. They never would have taken him anyway. He had Osteomyelitis. One leg was shorter than the other, and he had a constant draining wound his whole life. My only brother served in the Army, and was in Vietnam during '66-67. I'm the only one left of the four kids they had.
I grew up in the City of Rochester, and attended a racially mixed highschool, graduating in 1965. I was the youngest girl in the family, and the only one to attend college, although it was later in life. I managed to get my Masters Degree, although I never used it in my job. College was more of a challenge to myself to see how far I could go. I spent many years doing historical research on the Civil War as a hobby. I did my Masters thesis on the second black regiment out of Massachusetts, tracking down descendants of both the white officers, and the black enlisted men. Some had been slaves, and I met and became friends with the grandson of one of those former slaves. I probably know more about black history than most blacks do. I'm still a history buff. Now my interests are in British history, WWI and WWII.

In my experience, the people who have the most violent rage against successful (and attractive) women are unattractive liberal woman.
However, I guess she’s right in that I am bigoted against lawless thugs (regardless of skin color), Muslim terrorists (and the belief system that demands it) and women who wish to kill their own babies in the womb.

Erica at Salon must have forgotten those Trump supporters like my wife and I. Both of us are college-educated, both ex-military officers and both professionals in our careers.
I keep wondering where all these millions of uneducated people are in this country who are supporting Donald Trump. You'd think from the way the Leftist media spouts off, that we haven't had a public school system in this country for decades. And that all those people who didn't attend school have gravitated to Trump because they are "stupid". Or so says Erica at Salon.
