ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIRST DEBATE BETWEEN
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Donald John Trump
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HEMPSTEAD, NY
9 PM MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2016
The 90 minute debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
Thank you. I shared on FB and many people agreed with it.
That’s nice. The remarks belonged to Brent Bozell, almost direct quotes. He was fact checking the moderator, but reportedly is not a fan of TRUMP.
Since Brent’s appearance, I have heard it was much worse than his examples and that interruptions, challenges and embarrassing questions were excessively directed to TRUMP and not to Clinton.
Thanks!! Go Donald!
I actually agree with that. Why she didn’t simply state she hadn’t been in office for 30 years, I don’t know. I think she deflected it by saying something like he wasn’t sticking to the facts, but I thought that was a mistake. Confront the issue dead on and you paint him as non-factual, or ill informed.
Now she does kind of own it in some folk’s minds.
” youve had thirty years to get it right comment was the Shot Heard Round The World, to my mind.”
As I posted here and on Facebook yesterday, the only thing that stands out is “ 30 years of FAILURE” THAT is what people are going to remember.
I agree. She has that in spades.
But if Trump was on his game he could counter her with her statement when her husband got into the White House she loudly declared that she was the co-president.
And then with her work on Gov health care (which is NOT the job of the wife of the prez) which failed thank goodness but Obama has saddled us with it, then his 30 yrs remark would have validation.
Trump missed a lot of good opportunities to bring up stuff like the emails and Benghazi but choose not to.
He may be saving lots of stuff for the next two debates.
Those are some very good points. Thanks for reminding me.
You’re right there. Very good.
She’s wearing it like one of her cheap pants suits...
Syncro came up with a great observation too.
He reminded me that she was “co-president” with her husband, by her own claim. So I guess she has been in control off and on since January 1993. That’s 23 years anyway.
I chatted yesterday with an liberal white guy condo owner in LA. I bumped into him outside his home, a stranger. We chatted amically about various things before turning (amically) to politics. He said
* most people who watched the debate had already made up their minds by that time
* he was for hillary because trump stiffed his subcontractors and he related to the subcontractors
* he felt hillary was more for the little guy. he is afraid trump will threaten medicare and social security
i said how about helicopter money and the guy actually knew what i was talking about (the first person i have met in person who was familiar with the term). he claimed that helicopter money was brought up in the debate in a roundabout way by someone. i am still on travel and have not had a chance to watch the debate or reruns yet (maybe someone else can clarify?).
the guy made a big thing about how strong he thought the country was (undermining a trump point that the country was in jeapoardy, i suppose) and that no other nation could threaten it. i mentioned that illegal immigration could threaten it if nothing else and he conceded that, but claimed that most muslims were nice and told him that they preferred to live in the usa and they (muslim immigrants) were also afraid of muslim radicals. (this has some obvious flaws in reasoning so i pass along without comment at least for now.)
after a bit more discussion we parted amicably. it was late and i was not there to discuss politics to begin with so i did not bother to contest his conclusions (i doubt i could have made a difference). even if trump is guilty of stiffing his contractors, it is a civil court issue, not criminal court issue. it remains true that trump has never negligently handled any sensitive documents like hillary has. it is still true that trump has never even been investigated by the fbi while hillary has. the national security fallout from trump’s botched deals was not, is not, and will never be a threat to the security of the nation. but the national security fallout from hillary’s lost and potentially intercepted email messages is potentially huge. and hillary’s behavior surrounding the email controversy is nothing short of suspicious.
politics came up because i asked if he had gotten any random cell phone calls like i had. i felt that they were related to pollsters. he said that he let all unrecognized out of area calls go to voicemail. i said the polls are all unreliable anyways. we segued into politics from there.
I think another big one that was missed for the most part is that the hard left commies in office have had almost eight years to make things better and all they have done is destroy a once great country. Trump could have pounded that a lot more.Butttt,,,,...its not over we will win!!
Sorry for this late reply.
Going through some old posts.
I am worried about freedom in America also.
Though, I do think freedom has a natural appeal and will appear yet again even if extinguished for a while.
But, yeah, the fire of freedom burns the brightest in the USA.
GWB said he was about freedom - the freedom agenda.
He neglected truth.
Truth and freedom goes together.
Have a great and blessed New Year!
