Americans will be watching the presidential debates closely not for policies or ideas, but for images and demeanor. This creates a clear opening for Donald Trump. Hillary has hidden behind flacks and party hacks and pandering and controlled media. Trump has behaved exactly the opposite way, speaking for himself, attacking party machines, and acting often unscripted.
If Hillary was elected, she would be the fattest president since William Howard Taft, the shortest president since James Madison, and the second oldest president in American history. These very visible factors will quietly blend into the evaluation voters will make of her, whatever she says during the debates, especially as voters also try to figure out if she is really healthy or if she is lying about that, as she lies about almost everything.
Trump, in contrast, exudes energy and health, and while he is even older than Hillary and while he is chubby, too, the way he carries himself bespeaks a different sort of person from Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton.

I am guessing they will have a podium she can lean on.

EDITOR’S NOTE:
The presidential debate commission settled an early flashpoint when Clinton demanded a
step-stool at the podium to add height to her 5’4” frame. Campaign Chairman John Podesta
expressed concern that Hillary would be dwarfed by 6’2” Trump. The request was quickly
rejected. The commission is allowing for a custom-made podium, which will accommodate
the difference in stature.

Hillary will be made up and look young and vibrant —but a bit waxen like V. Lenin in his Moscow tomb. Its how she acts that will count. The moderators will do her work for her—it gotcha question after gotcha question. “Mr. Trump, What do you have to hide in your Taxes?” “Mr. Trump why did you let investors go broke when your casinos’ failed?” “Mr. Trump do you judge women by their looks?” “If Menania Got Fat would you divorce her?” “Why do you let your son kill endangered animals?” “Isn’t it true you hate black people?” and so on.
Bingo.
This is the one thing he needs to avoid-and I hope his aides realize the importance of not bluffing his way through questions.
What Trump needs to do is hone in on her weakness, which is her obsession with seizing power regardless of how much ridiculous it makes her look to voters..
He needs to do something along the lines of what Dodd accomplished, re: driver's licenses for illegal aliens.
Expose her mendacity in real-time.
ah, meant lectern.
She’s having a hell of a good time during that seizure.
Yabut, will she bounce when she hits the deck?
Do you really think that many people are still unsure at this point?
I can’t imagine the debates swinging that many voters. Things are so polarized nowadays that most people are voting simply on principle.
my insanely-left, republican hating aunt said in a FB post that she won’t watch the debates because she feels the moderators are in Trump’s pocket!!
Im hoping not, folks, but there is that outside possibility that the witch does just fine during the debate.
********************************************************
I expect her to do just fine. She’s rested up, she’ll be medicated to her eyebrows & maybe higher, airbrushed (makeup) to look 10 years younger at least & perfectly coiffed. She wants to be president more than anything she’s wanted in her life and she’s also convinced that Trump is a peon & well beneath her in all things political so she’ll be ready to rumble. She’ll come out like the Grand Dame she thinks she is & she’ll be cackling at all the hard questions (assuming she gets any) & cackling off any criticisms. I expect her to be slicker than eel snot in wiggling out of anything and everything. Standing for 90 minutes will be a stretch, but I think she’ll manage to do it or die trying because she’ll have her ‘custom’ podium with gosh knows what inside (meds, cough drops, etc.) and if she doesn’t get by this debate, it’s all over .... all her dreams of power, unlimited money to grasp, and finally rising above & beyond Bill who has humiliated her repeatedly for her political lifetime ... she intends to make his presidency look like a Sunday school picnic.
Yes I do.
I cant imagine the debates swinging that many voters...
I very much sympathize with it being hard for those of us who follow politics to imagine. But there are a lot of people who don't want to follow politics until they feel they have to. Don't think of yourself, or your Aunt, or those of us on FreeRepublic or those on the news, or on the editorial board of newspapers. Think of the people who were quiet as the rest of us argued.
LMAO.
Sounds like a case of envy, if Trump is chubby Hillary is a small elephant.
