Yes I agree they are extremely similar in style.
“I’d like something in the style of ... freight containers.”
“Have I got a deal for you!”
I saw a movie called “The Grand Seduction” about a town like this in Newfoundland———VERY good movie, and funny.

I would bet that the ocean temperature is a “balmy” 52 degrees in August.
Although, depending on whether the Gulf Stream passes close by it could be substantially warmer.
Is that a Shed or an Outhouse with the Ocean view ?
Yes, I bet it gets pretty chilly there.
It’s gorgeous. Who wouldn’t want to live there. I’d move there in a second if it weren’t Canada and so cold in the winter.
You would think these dying towns would be the places they’d send their Syrian-Muslim colonists/refugees.
Yes, I bet it gets pretty chilly there.
Not really
I believe the Gulf Stream is way east of there, as it affects the south coast of Ireland, allowing palm trees to grow.
“Is that a Shed or an Outhouse with the Ocean view ?”
I seriously doubt it if it’s an outhouse that close to the water, also it looks too neat and well kept. Best guess is it’s a small building to keep boat related equipment, gas tanks, oars, life vests, fishing gear, etc. I’ve wanted a small building just like that down by the shore for that reason.
It gets chilly in Maine in the summer sometimes. Newfoundland is a lot further north with the Labrador current coming down from the Artic(I looked up the path of the Gulf Stream after my previous post).
I spent a July 4th weekend in Boothbay, ME(about an 1 1/2 hours north of Portland). It got fogged in, with an onshore breeze. The high temp was in the mid 50’s. We had to buy sweatshirts because is was 80 and sunny when we left home in New Hampshire.
Of course, with Global Warming this place could be as warm as Hawaii in a few years. Sounds like a great investment opportunity. Ocean front houses for $100K US dollars.
If Trump wins there will be a housing boom in Canada, building homes for all the Americans moving north.
I looked up the path of the Gulf Stream after I posted. Prince Edward Island is actually quite warm in the late summer because of the Gulf Stream affect. However, the Labrador current runs south by this place. The Titanic sank not too far from there. ICEBURG DEAD AHEAD!
I think the Scotland Coast also have palm trees because of the Gulf Stream. Of course, like most palm trees, they were planted there.
“Why are there no ice cubes in Newfoundland?”
The lady with the recipe died.
“In Newfoundland, why, when someone dies, do they bury them head down with the bare buttocks sticking up above ground?”
There’s a shortage of bicycle racks.
