With the first presidential debate coming on Monday, Donald Trump has moved to a five-point lead over Hillary Clinton, his biggest advantage since mid-July.
The latest Rasmussen Reports weekly White House Watch telephone and online survey finds Trump with 44% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Clintons 39%. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson earns eight percent (8%) of the vote, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein holds steady at two percent (2%). Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are still undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

I’m on the northern flip side of Maryland and can relate.
Wish my state were in play.
Outside of Baltimore City and the two suburban D.C. counties, the rest of Maryland is rather moderate to conservative.
Praying that Trump’s momentum/landslide sweeps manages to tilt Maryland red by election day.
BTW, he received an awesome reception at a Baltimore area diner when he came to town for his address to the National Guard a couple of weeks ago!!!
Not only over-sampled Ds, but severely understated Is
Thanks.
Looking forward to Trump’s rally Saturday evening in Roanoke.
Likely so, because most other polling has Trump leading by small margins. NBC, by using juiced data, has (get ready for it... be surprised!) doctored the info. I know.. stunning, eh?
The 3 polls I saw yesterday showed him up in OH, NV, and NC. Is FL new? That would be huge
The NBC/WSJ was garbage in the primaries. Consistently underestimating Trump’s numbers. Trump even called for their pollster to be fired after they messed up the SC results.
Enjoy! My wife and I were planning to attend the Pence rally in Williamsburg, but decided against it as she's still recovering from a hit of the flu. Pence, in a rainy, outdoor venue, still outdrew the Ubershrew's usual turnout. More than 650 showed up in that nasty weather to see him.
Thank you. Trump needs to go to Chicago’s south and west side. Get more black voters to support him to offset the fraud the Dem machine will undoubtedly pull.
While diwn from 6-7 point leads, he seems to be settling in at 4-5. This is where I thought he would end up unless Stein or Johnson keep their #s.
It is becoming more apparent that Virginia, not Ohio or Florida, will be the necessary ingredient for a Trump victory.
Virginia until 2006 was a most reliable Republican state at the national level. However, in an indication of what will happen to the United States as a whole, and what has already happened in California, the large influx of illegal aliens into Virginia, and the gross expansion of government in the suburbs around Washington, has created a big democrat advantage.
Yes, illegal aliens vote in Virginia, in large numbers. The SEIU and affiliated groups have registered them, and no one ever checks the registrations for fraud. They just check off the US Citizen box and that’s it. Democrats then drag them to the polls, or more often, vote them absentee so they don’t show up at the polls where they might be challenged.
Federal government expansion, and the influx of lobbying organizations with numerous new employees also adds to the democrat totals.
Top that off with a Virginia Republican party where the leadership is RINOs who support democrat policies at all levels and commit fratricide with true conservatives (e.g., Cuccinelli) and you have a bright red state turned blue.
Virginia is the key for Trump.
And his worst enemies are liberal Republicans.
Trump down only 6 in DC.
Now, I don’t think he’ll win IL, MN, or DC. Ido think ME is close, NH somewhat close, and MI/PA tied.
Nope...my mistake. It was NC, not FL.
Virginia depends on whether there is strong turnout for Trump in the southwest and southside of Virginia to overcome Northern Virginia. I think Trump will do well here. It will be close, but if he wins Ohio and Florida, I see him winning Virginia.
Well, I just saw the media gloating on MSNBC Squalk Box about a “stable” race with Hillary up by 6.
After the last two days, Hillary will never win NC.
Not to mention, the poll was over-sampled for dems by 8%!
Still- 3 solid polls in 3 critical battleground states
We don’t need VA.. if we get OH, FL, NV, Iowa and all the states Romney won, plus Maine CD2, we’re at 266. NH or Colorado would get to 270... winning Maine overall gets us to 269 and goes to the House (without CO or NH), and last poll was dead even in Maine
Need more than 5% to overcome the rampant voter fraud that is inevitable.
Exactly. Ask Al Gore how it feels to win the popular vote.
But national polls are what the dumber down populace relate to.
Trump holds a double-digit advantage among men, while Clinton leads by just four among women.
