Plaintiffs-Appellants Defense Distributed and Second Amendment Foundation, Inc. have sued Defendants-Appellees, the United States Department of State, the Secretary of State, the DDTC, and various agency employees (collectively, the State Department), seeking to enjoin enforcement of certain laws governing the export of unclassified technical data relating to prohibited munitions. Because the district court concluded that the public interest in national security outweighs Plaintiffs-Appellants interest in protecting their constitutional rights, it denied a preliminary injunction, and they timely appealed. We conclude the district court did not abuse its discretion and therefore affirm.

So no distributing G code? You can learn G code on the net or at most community colleges. I taught myself to “write” it in 1975 from a set of books from Rockwell.
But beware- someone hands you a thumb-drive it may be a crime now.
Hand me a thumb drive and I will trash it if I am not a long time personal friend with you. I don’t want child pornography or anything else illegal on my PC.
My son built me an AR-15 as a gift. He knew I liked light, so he did it without all the silly rails and heavy folding stocks and whatnot. In fact, he got a cheap lower parts kit that included a plastic lower receiver! We’ll eventually replace that freebie receiver with a spare aluminum lower, but it is light. Leave it to the military and others to take a light rifle and add 25% or more to the weight.
Mine does have a barrel made by FN (Supposedly a re-contoured M-249).
There are some funny old ads on Youtube for toy rifles that make sounds, Mattel, I believe. One was an AR, the other a lever action.
Lost wax would get you a rough casting, but would still need to be machined to perfection.
I helped my brother-inlaw cast some fittings for an old scabbard that came out looking pretty good. Finished up with hand tools, gave them a nice polish and they looked great. There’s an article on the web somewhere written by a guy that actually made a brass lower using the lost-wax method. I think he hand carved or cnc’d his wax mold but it’s been too long and I’ve forgotten the details. I do know my daughter’s printer came with a low temp plastic meant to be used to print reverse/sacrificial molds for casting. And just think how cool a brass AR-15 would look!
"The Government also vaguely asserts that imposing a prior restraint upon the domestic publication of the technical data here is justified to protect foreign relations with other countries that have more restrictive firearms laws than the United States. Inflicting domestic speech censorship in pursuit of globalist foreign relations concerns (absent specific findings and prohibitions as in Humanitarian Law Project) is dangerous and unprecedented."
That is the REAL motive behind the State Department's refusal to grant an OK and the Court's decision to not provide an injunction and the Appellate Court's majority's decision to not reverse that decision. . . the Liberal thinking that supports the Globalist Humanitarian Anti-Gun agenda. . . which trumps all Constitutional Rights.
