The first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump promises to be the most watched ever, with an audience that could exceed 100 million people, according to experts interviewed by The Hill.
A debate with an audience that size would be something never seen before in U.S. politics and would be a figure close to what the Super Bowl gets.

"Viewers sense the potential for drama and the unpredictable," said Jeff McCall, a professor of media studies at DePauw University ...

McCall adds another reason for the likely record-breaking numbers: anticipation.

The expectations for Hillary are really low. Most likely she will do WONDERFULLY, greatly exceeding everyone’s expectations. She has debated dozens of times and never seized out. Plus she wears an earpiece. She is fed her responses. She’s going to look great contrasted with her most recent appearances. Personally I’d love to see a grand mal seizure or her depends fail her, but I think she will hold her own.
Don’t set the bar so low for her. She will show up and she will make it through. She is a trained well oiled machine monkey.
My hope is that her lies and her aloof disingenuous self will be evident to all who watch.
And that Trump keeps it serious and on point.
He needs to appear rational, genuine and in control.
Yup, I hope Trump doesn’t blow it by jesting by referring to Hillary’s leaky colostomy bag or mention her stumbling and twitching.
Nobody’s going to read this because they will be blind after the previous post.
But anyway, I think Trump should be able to knock this out of the park if he just keeps the focus on one over-riding concept — political correctness results in bad political decisions, poor science and faulty economics. Why take a third term of that when a return to sanity is available?
Hildabutchbitch, ESAD!!!
This will be someone's Waterloo and the left is doing all that it can, pouring all of it's resources into ensuring Trump becomes Napoleon.
As far as Hillary's symptoms, she will be so pumped full of pharmaceuticals her decaying and dementia won't be apparent. She will get favoring lighting and camera positions. Trump will have flashing lights pointed in his face and other unfavorable lighting effects. They will do everything they can to trigger his temper and get some outburst which they will broadcast soundbytes of 24/7.
Well all know this. Trump is doing fantastic, the left is going to do everything they can, using all of their tricks, to destroy him here.
Roflol.
Could it be a hearing aid? That would be a more visual and damaging indicator of her [declining] self.
Pleasenobody suggest that it's a seizure.
It will be watched across the country as people gather together and cheer like the Romans in the coliseum watching the lions eat Christians. The final two shots to Hillary’s mid-section were that her tag team partner Gary Smoke Johnson was cut out and there will be no ear pieces allowed.
I have seen this line for several months now, "Hillary is gonna have her clocked cleaned when it gets to the debates.." yada yada yada...
I don't see it that way.
Like it or not, you would have to admit she is a seasoned, skilled, and well versed debater; she's "been there and done that" many times, and with some of the best in the business.
He has not. Period.
She will be given easy, softball-like questions and issues by the moderators, who obviously will just fawn over the anointed one. With Trump, on the other hand, they will be merciless. His questions and his topics will be designed to trip him up, to expose any weaknesses, and to embarrass him in any way they can, or set it up for Hildabeast to do it.
Mark my words, it will NOT be a Hillary meltdown. In fact, it may be exactly the opposite.
And I pray that I am wrong.....
I wish I had your optimism.
As much as I admire Trump, he’s only human, and he’ll have everything stacked against him.
I’ll be biting my nails hoping he can survive the inevitable attempts to catch him not knowing some obscure foreign policy detail, like the name of some stupid foreign leader or foreign city or weapons program.
Hopefully, he’ll have some endearing ways of deflecting these attacks, or simply say “I don’t know”.
You can bet they will be trying the whole time to engineer situations where Clinton gets to make fun of Trump not knowing something, and the whole stacked audience laughs at him.
Am I being too pessimistic? I don’t think so.
But I will offer this bit of optimism: If they do catch him in a few traps, and manage to publicly make a fool of him - it still ain’t over till it’s over.
Publicly humiliating him over some trivia could backfire on them “big league”.
The press has record low approval and if they reveal the true extent of their meanness and their slant - Trump could get a huge sympathy vote on November 8th.
Pass the Popcorn Please
I've been wondering the same thing. Traditionally, they stand (at least at the first debate). I haven't found out anything either. But I don't see how Hillary will have the stamina to stand at the podium for 90 minutes. Maybe her advisors will push for chairs to sit at when not speaking.
Will Hillary be required to attend, or is the debate commission providing people to answer in her stead while she stays home resting up from all her strenuous “saving the planet” work?
(Trump answers)
LESTER HOLT: "Mrs Clinton.....if you can hear me, if you support open borders, squeeze my hand."
A hearing aid would be 100% allowed, if it was a true hearing aid.
Listen to her latest speeches or talks. She speaks (sometimes sounding a bit drugged) in perfect little clauses, pauses as if to think, then finishes the sentence perfectly. It doesn’t work like that, speaking off the cuff. It seems like she is reading. Another clue is at the end of one phrase she will end the sentence, by mistake too early, and then have to restart and ended sentence.
Such as: “and that brings us to where we are toDAY!” [whoops, after her strong sentence ending, she hears the rest of that sentence...] “which is why Donald Trump cannot be President!” She’s hearing the phrases and repeating.
Rofl!!!
Have you been sleeping for the last year and a half? Trump had a far more challenging field to contend with during the primary, not to mention unified negative adversaries in the mainstream media. If Hillary hadn't started out with a huge advantage and sense of inevitability because she had locked up basically all of the “super-delegates” ahead of time she most likely would have been beaten by a 75 year old communist curmudgeon agitator who basically has never worked a real job outside of politics.
The leaked DNC emails also showed that Hillary had the complete and corrupt backing of the Democrat establishment. Yet she barely beat Bernie. She hasn't done crap. She has been spoiled rotten and handled with kid gloves her entire life. She is a sick old lady who has gotten to where she is by lying about everything and cheating and taking hundreds of millions of dollars in the largest pay to play scam in history.
So, yes obviously this debate is going to be hugely slanted in her favor. She is going to know all the questions ahead of time and the “moderator” is going to be out to get Donald Trump and the audience is probably going to be stacked also. In the aftermath the commentators even on FOX will be “fact checking” everything Trump said and saying Hillary won. But you know what? He is still going to clean her clock because that is what he has been doing to his challengers all year long, including the “world's greatest debater” Ted Cruz.
There is going to be a huge contrast between a polished but sick, drugged up, painted up, nasty old power hungry hag that represents the past, and a strong transformational leader who represents the future of our country. You can mark my words on that, period.
