The House Science Committee is demanding interviews this week with employees of the IT firm that managed Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
Two of those employees, Paul Combetta and Bill Thornton, recently pleaded the Fifth Amendment when subpoenaed to testify about the server before the House Oversight Committee.
Science Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) had originally demanded transcribed interviews with seven Platte River Networks employees in July, but has been rebuffed. But Wednesday reports that Reddit users have uncovered a post by Combetta asking how to modify certain emails for a “VERY VIP” client have led Smith to demand the interviews be scheduled by Friday of this week.
“If true, these details raise new questions as to whether Platte River Networks purposefully defied legal document retention requirements. Further, it is unclear if the Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of these facts at the time of their investigation,” Smith wrote in a letter sent Wednesday.
“Additionally, I am concerned that Mr. Combetta may have made an attempt to delete relevant posts, including the post mentioned above, from his Reddit.com username just hours after reports initially surfaced on September 19, 2016, about his request for assistance on deleting email addresses from archived emails,” Smith wrote.

Destroying evidence under subpoena and lying to Congress both are liable to charges of Contempt of Congress. I expect all show and no go.
As part of their investigatory powers Congress can try a person for contempt and imprison them until they either testify or produce the evidence subpoenaed, the House until the end of session and the Senate indefinitely.
Then they need to do this with that crook Koskinen for lying about the IRS destroying evidence.
He had some kind of limited immunity from the FBI. I don't believe we've ever actually been told full nature of his immunity, or what was gained by the FBI from it. (if anything). He doesn't have immunity granted by congress. If the congresscritters had actually been interested in the truth of what actually happened, they'd have granted him immunity as well. After all, he's just a low-level criminal who, in the big scheme of things isn't actually important. However, neither congress nor the FBI is interested in the American people actually finding out the truth about what went on, so he was allowed to take the 5th.
Bottom line: if the republicans actually wanted the truth to be known, they would have it.

Jason Chavitz was on Mornings with Maria ( FBC ) yesterday discussing this . He was all worked up about the illegality of all it . When asked if it was an impeachable offense if Hillary were to be elected he got quiet and said no . “ We don’t want to go there “. So they asked what do you want ? His answer ? “ Well , we just want to get the word out . “
They have no intention of doing anything . Like they’ve done for the past 8 years .
